San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Basketball Betting

October 3rd, 2023 Live NBA Betting Lines

Basketball betting has the San Antonio Spurs starting a very long 8-game road trip at Sacramento on Wednesday.  The Spurs have really had their way with the Kings, winning 9 of the last 10.  They are just 5-4-1 against the NBA betting line in those games.

Basketball betting had the Spurs winning 118-106 at home in December against the Kings. That 12 point margin of victory landed right on the basketball betting point spread.  The Spurs also won back in October as they hosted the Kings.  The Spurs won that won by a score of 113-94 and they did cover the spread.  The Spurs have won seven straight overall in the series.  San Antonio has won three of the last four at Sacramento including both games last season.

The last two meetings between the teams have gone over the NBA betting total but the previous three went under.  In the last meeting it was Richard Jefferson scoring a game-high 23 points for the Spurs while Tim Duncan had 17 points and nine rebounds. NBA betting stats indicated that Omri Casspi led the Kings with 20 points while Tyreke Evans had 19.

The San Antonio Spurs are trying to hold their own on the road this season as they are 8-9 vs. the basketball betting number. They are a big under team as 11 of their 17 road games have gone under the NBA betting total.  That makes some sense since the Spurs are 7th in the league on defense. San Antonio is 13th on offense as basketball betting stats show and they are led by Tim Duncan who averages just under 20 points per game.

Sacramento is 10-12-1 at home this season vs. the basketball betting line. The Kings started the season strongly but they got ruined on their six-game road trip last month, losing every game. Sacramento can still score as they are 9th in the league on offense but they can’t stop anyone as they are 27th in the league on defense. Those are typical Paul Westphal numbers since he can coach an offense and have his teams play exciting basketball but his teams don’t play any defense.  Tyreke Evans has been leading the team in scoring for much of the season, scoring just over 20 points per game.  The Kings are a slight over team at home with 12 of their games going over the basketball betting total.
