Texas Sized Battle in Basketball Playoffs Betting

Texas Sized Battle in Basketball Playoffs Betting. A huge battle in basketball playoffs betting takes place on Thursday night in San Antonio as the Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of their series. The Spurs are slightly favored in basketball betting lines in this game.

Basketball playoffs betting odds in the games between these two teams have been tight. Neither team has been favored by more than just a few points in this series.  During the regular season the Mavericks were far better on the road than at home but in the playoffs nothing is that simple.  Dallas has shown the ability to win at home and on the road in the playoffs.  The Spurs were a better team at home than on the road during the regular season.  San Antonio in past years was a tough team to handle in basketball playoffs betting but they have been very inconsistent this Texas season.

The Mavericks during the regular season had a huge home/road dichotomy but not in the way you might think. They were awful at home vs. the basketball betting line but very good on the road. The Mavericks in the regular season were 11-29-1 at home but on the road they were a profitable 26-15 vs. the number.  In terms of the total the Mavericks were a team that just barely went over the total more than under.  At home 22 of their 41 games went over while 21 of their 41 road games went over. Dallas has some nice scoring options led by Dirk Nowitzki who has done very well so far in this series.

The Spurs during the regular season were pretty solid at home as they went 24-16-1 vs. the spread.  On the road they were just 20-21.  The Spurs were a different team at home vs. on the road in regards to the total though.  At home, 23 of their 41 games went over the total but on the road they went under in 26 of their 41 games.

The Spurs and Mavericks know each other very well. They have met in the playoffs throughout the years with the Spurs having the early advantage while the Mavericks have done well lately.  Dallas is the more talented team and they may be able to put away the Spurs.  Maybe 2010 is the year that the Mavericks finally get over the hump and into the NBA Finals.
