VicePresident Chris Wallace has sent out a press release stating that the team has given up its rights over Spanish player from the Regal Barcelona, Juan Carlos Navarro. This action was taken upon Allen Iverson’s arrival to Memphis.

This meant that in the hypothetical case that Navarro were to come back to the NBA, he would have as a restricted free agent.
Once the Memphis Grizzlies have released Juan Carlos Navarro, he automatically becomes an unrestricted free agent, and the investment of 900.000 for his rights or in other words Cap Holds, can be used to offer Allen Iverson a better deal. The only basketball betting season that Navarro has played in the NBA was in 2007-2008. At that time he averaged 10.9 points and 2.2 assists on 82 games that he played.
The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t been able to reach the playoffs since 2006 and have not been able to win a postseason game ever. Iverson on his part believes that at his 34 years, he can still be at his best to be able to take the Grizzlies to a better future.
“This year for me is so personal,” Iverson said.
“It’s basically going to be my rookie season again. It hurts, but I turn the TV on, I read the paper, I listen to some of the things people say about me having the season that I had last year and me losing a step, things like that. They’re trying to put me in a rocking chair already.”
