Warriors Look to Assert Betting on NBA Games Superiority over Pelicans

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors Game 5 Expert predictions and Odds

Individual star power is not lacking with New Orleans or Golden State.  In fact, the marquee men are a big draw for their playoff series.  Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant headline the Warriors.  Anthony Davis is the big-name star of the Pelicans.

Betting on NBA Games firepower is not lacking.  Golden State was a big favorite to eliminate New Orleans.  Three straight appearances in the NBA Finals is hard to ignore.  Not to mention two championships in that span.  But once again board value remains a perpetual concern for handicappers.   Too many gamblers bet the Warriors too high.

Pelicans vs. Warriors TV Coverage: TNT

Head coach Steve Kerr has done a remarkable job in leading Golden State.  Not that long ago the betting public avoided them at all costs.  Now the Warriors are a public favorite for betting on NBA Games.  Seems like the defending champs have too much going for them.  From a board value perspective that is.  Superstar Stephen Curry, like LeBron James, draws the love.  And the betting dollars.  Kevin Durant is a second superstar.  Durant proved his value when Curry was sidelined in the first round.  It’s the proverbial embarrassment of riches.

Durant has proven the worth of his large contract from two years ago.  He leads the Warriors in post season with 27 points per game.  He has added eight rebounds per outing as good measure.  Curry is in midseason form with 24 points per tilt.  Klay Thompson has shined as the second guard with 22 points per playoff matchup.  Forward Draymond Green has been a reliable glass cleaner.  Green is powering to 12 rebounds per playoff game.

New Orleans has been catapulted by Anthony Davis.  He has averaged 30 points per playoff game.  What’s most impressive is that tops his regular season average of 28 per outing.  Seems like a shame center DeMarcus Cousins is out with an Achilles injury.  Cousins averaged 25 points and 13 rebounds per matchup.  There is no compensating for that loss.  Guard Jrue Holiday is offering good support to Davis.  Holiday is pumping in 24 points per post season game.

New Orleans has shown sportsbook value against the Warriors.  In the last 11 meetings the Pelicans paid seven times.  Ten of the last 13 in this series went over the total.  However, at ORACLE Arena the Warriors do hold a profit margin.  Nine of the last 14 between these teams there were covered by Golden State.  Six of the last seven in this matchup at Golden State went over the total.  These are two of the four highest scoring teams in post season.  Fans of offense will love this matchup.  And the numbers show over the total is a consistent factor.

Matchup to Watch

Golden State has the betting on NBA Games depth advantage in this matchup.  Not to mention proven championship experience.  Beyond that the Pelicans are shorthanded.  They lack the lineup to win four games here.
