Calipari’s Recruits make the rest of NCAA look like Calamari

Calipari’s Recruits make the rest of NCAA look like Calamari. Now that college basketball is less than four months away NCAA basketball betting fans can hardly contain their excitement. After the way the men’s tournament came to an end last season, fans are expecting this year to be even more thrilling. Kris Jenkins, who plays for Villanova, was able to drain a three-pointer on a last second buzzer beater that sealed the deal for the Wildcats. The Tar Heels were forced to return home as losers and another tournament was in the books. While those two schools made it all the way to the finals, they certainly aren’t the favorites to win it all next season.

Calipari Honor for Duke

That honor belongs to none other than Duke, but close behind them is Kentucky. Having college basketball legend Coach K at the helm is enough to put any team near the top of the sportsbooks, but Duke’s recruiting class for next year is one of the best NCAA basketball betting has seen in a long time. The Blue Devils +310 odds show the immense expectations that are riding on this team, but Kentucky’s +730 odds are an indication of what they’ll be able to accomplish this upcoming season. While a second round loss was a big disappointment last season, behind 8th year head coach John Calipari the Wildcats are poised to win it all.

John Calipari

Calipari’s experience as a head coach is unquestionable, evident by his comfy $8 million annual salary. While he is one of the highest paid college basketball coaches, he is in no way overpaid. Calipari’s record includes twenty-one 20-win seasons, eight 30-win seasons, and three 35-win official seasons. During his tenure with Kentucky he was able to lead the Wildcats to their 8th NCAA Championship and along the way he has earned himself 5 National Coach of the Year awards. If there’s one thing that’s right about Kentucky basketball it’s John Calipari.

NCAA basketball

Other than his reputation for posting winning seasons, Calipari’s time with Kentucky has seen him rake in some of the nation’s best recruiting classes. Next year is no exception as Kentucky will be welcoming not one, not two, not three, but four 5-star recruits. The other recruit they’ve brought along is a 4-star, a monument to the recruiting abilities of Kentucky. Each of these recruits are over 6’ with three of them reaching over 6’9”. While prophesying is usually left to the fortune-tellers, it should be clear to NCAA basketball betting fans that this team has more than enough talent to help Calipari win his second championship.

NBA Draft

On top of a stellar recruiting class there are other good news for Kentucky. The Wildcats have suffered very few losses in terms of departure, only five players have decided to part ways with Kentucky. Jamal Murray decided to enter the NBA Draft, Alex Polythress graduated, Charles Matthews and Marcus Lee decided to transfer, and Skal Labissiere and Tyler Ulis also entered the draft. Other than those few losses the Wildcats will be competing with the same folk as last season. Throw in the second best recruiting class in the country, second only to Duke’s tremendous pull, and this team has given NCAA basketball betting fans more than enough reason to pick them for college basketball futures.
