Kansas is 18-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 season when they started 20-0. The Jayhawks average 83.2 points per game and give up just 61.1 points per game. They lead the Big 12 in four categories including scoring margin at 22.1 per game. Junior forward Marcus Morris has averaged 24 points per game in his last four games. His brother Markieff is leading the Big 12 in rebounding at 8.7 per game. Kansas is one of just three teams in Division I that are still unbeaten. Kansas is first in RPI and they lead the nation in field goal percentage at 52.4.
Longhorns
Texas is 3-0 in the Big 12 after they routed Texas A&M on Wednesday. Texas is 11-1 at home this season. They are averaging 78.2 points per game and giving up just 61.3 per game for a +16.9 scoring margin. Sophomore guard Jordan Hamilton leads Texas with a 19.7 scoring average. Freshman forward Tristan Thompson is next in scoring at 13.1 points per game and he leads the team in rebounding at 7.7 per game.
Series
Kansas leads the overall series 17-6 and has won three straight and six of the last seven meetings. There is no question that Kansas and Texas are the best teams in the Big 12 and two of the best in the country. These teams have met in three of the last five Big 12 Championship title games. In Big 12 play, Kansas holds a 13-5 record against Texas with a 10-4 mark in regular-season play and 3-1 record in the Big 12 Championship. Five of the last six games in this series have been decided by 10 points or less.
