College Basketball Betting – San Diego State at BYU

A Top-10 matchup in college basketball betting takes place on Wednesday as ninth-ranked BYU hosts fourth-ranked San Diego State.

The Big East and the Big 10 have gotten much of the attention this season in college hoops but on Wednesday the game to watch in college basketball lines is in the Mountain West as the Aztecs battle the Cougars.

Nation’s Leading Scorer
BYU is interesting to watch simply because they have the nation’s leading scorer in Jimmer Fredette.  The Cougars have gotten into the Top 10 in the country but they face a tough task on Wednesday against an unbeaten San Diego State team.  The Aztecs have a great point guard of their own in D.J. Gray who matches up well with Fredette.  While the matchup at point guard is excellent, the matchup inside may decide the game.  San Diego State has Player of the Year candidate Kawhi Leonard and unless BYU can slow him down they will be in trouble.

Biggest Game of the Season
You can make a case that even though this is a Mountain West contest it is the biggest game so far this season in college hoops. The game is already sold out and more than 20 NBA scouts are expected to be in Provo watching the two teams.  When you get a chance to see players like Leonard and Fredette it is a game worth watching. Much of the nation won’t get to see it though unless they have the CBS College Sports Channel as that is the network who has the game. This game on Wednesday will be the first one ever in Provo between two Top 10 teams.

Game Trends
The Aztecs are 17-5-1 against the college basketball lines in their last 23 road games. The Aztecs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Mountain West. If you are wagering on the total then keep in mind that the Aztecs have gone under in six of their last seven games but BYU has gone over in six of their last seven. In this series, six of the last eight have gone under in college basketball betting.
