Friday College Basketball Betting – St. Joseph’s at Villanova

City rivals will meet on Friday in college basketball betting as 12th-ranked Villanova hosts St. Joseph’s.

Villanova has been off for an entire week since losing their first game of the season against Tennessee.  They should be able to bounce back on Friday and they are getting the bulk of the attention from gamblers who bet on college basketball at the Sbg sports book.

Villanova Owns the Big 5 Games
In the Big 5 series, Villanova has won 21 of their last 23 games.  They will be playing a lot of those games in the next week. Villanova has St. Joseph’s on Friday and then they face Pennsylvania and LaSalle next week. They will play Temple at the end of the month. Last season the Wildcats beat St. Joseph’s by a score of 97-89.

Stokes and Fisher
Villanova is going to live or die with the play of Corey Stokes and Corey Fisher.  Stokes is averaging 15.7 points in his last three games. The Wildcats leading scorer is Corey Fisher who is averaging 15.8 points per game.

St. Joseph’s 3-3 this Season
The Hawks are just 3-3 this season and are coming off a 62-50 loss to Drexel on Wednesday.  The Hawks were outrebounded 46-23. Carl Jones led St. Joseph’s with 20 points.  The problem for St. Joseph’s this season is that they are starting three freshmen and that means some growing pains. The only senior for St. Joe’s is Idris Hilliard and he did have a career-high 22 points in last season’s game against Villanova.
