One of the most impressive teams this season so far in college basketball betting has been the Tennessee Volunteers.
Head coach Bruce Pearl has been under fire for NCAA violations but he has kept his job and his players are playing great for him. Tennessee is 7-0 straight up this season and 5-2 against the college basketball wagering point spread.
National Power
The Volunteers are now in the discussion as a national power this season in college hoops. The Volunteers beat Pittsburgh 83-76 and the Panthers were considered a Top 5 team. The Volunteers are now 5-2 in their last seven games against teams ranked in the Top 5. The win against Pittsburgh was very impressive since the Panthers had not lost to a nonconference foe in Pittsburgh in almost six years. Tennessee shot 56 percent from the floor in the win over Pittsburgh. The 83 points were the most scored in regulation by a Pittsburgh opponent since 2006. Tennessee was not highly thought of before the season began but with some big wins this season they have moved into the Top 10 in the country.
Scotty Hopson
If you have not heard of Scotty Hopson before you will now. He was great against Pittsburgh and it was not a fluke. He is a former high school All-American player and he will have a huge season. He has scored in double figures in each of Tennessee’s games this season.
Upcoming Schedule
Tennessee hosts Oakland on Tuesday and then goes to Charlotte on Friday in college basketball wagering. They should win both of those contests and next week they have home games against USC and Belmont that they should also win. They finish the month up by hosting Tennessee Martin. It is easy to believe that Tennessee will win all five of those games and enter the New Year with a 12-0 record. When the Volunteers get into conference play they will be without head coach Pearl who was suspended for the first eight SEC games this season. The Volunteers have proven that they are very good though but you might want to avoid them in college basketball betting at the Sbg global sportsbook for the eight games where Pearl is not behind the bench.
