It is true that Bruce Pearl’s hiring has really turned the tide for Auburn basketball. A program with very limited history and recent success powered its way into the Final Four in 2019. Since then, has had several standout College basketball betting seasons. The Tigers actually won the SEC Tournament last season after finishing in the Top 2 in the conference for the third time during Pearl’s tenure in Auburn. Auburn’s 27 wins last season were impressive. Consider that it was the fourth time in seven years that they won either the regular season or conference tournament titles.

2024-25 Auburn Tigers Basketball Outlook
Auburn was impressive last season. However, their offshore bookmaker journey at March Madness was stunningly brief. Last March, the Tigers were upset by Yale in the first round. Auburn has had some potent offenses and elite defenses in recent years, but this program has just two postseason wins since that Final Four run.
This team will not wallow in that disappointment and can only have their eyes on the future. At the beginning, a significant portion of last season’s talent is back in Auburn. Hence, there is reason to believe that this team can be just as talented and successful as last year’s unit. Pearl and his staff added a few faces to an already potent returning core. In turn, the Tigers should be NCAABB betting competitors in a tough SEC.
Ignoring a tough year during the pandemic, Auburn has been in remarkable shape in recent memory. That trend looks to continue, but can this be another one of those truly memorable seasons? Accordingly, gamblers are looking closely at who the playmakers will be for this team and the exciting games on the schedule ahead. Consider that with all of those factors, we’ll make a few statements at the end and wonder just how far the Tigers can soar in 2025.
The names involved with that Final Four have long since left the halls of Auburn. Still, that doesn’t mean those who have followed haven’t been capable, either. This program has been in fantastic shape regardless of those postseason struggles. A decade ago, it would’ve been insane to consider these Tigers a national contender on a multi-season basis. And that’s exactly the position that Pearl has put this program in. Now Bruce Pearl is beginning his 11th season in command.
Pearl has been a winner at every school he’s coached. Certainly, he has built another great veteran lineup. Everything starts and ends with Broome, who’ll look to build on an All-American season. Naturally, he is an elite scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. When he’s on the court, Auburn is in fantastic shape.
However, it’s also clear that Cardwell and the other pieces in the frontcourt aren’t exactly slouches either. The emergence last season of Baker-Mazara was also fantastic news. In turn, the Tigers will hope for even more from him.
Things are a little different in the backcourt this season with those transfer additions. Namely, Pegues has star power and is coming off a brilliant season at Furman. At the same time, Kelly has already proven himself at the power conference level. Every player is different, but concerns about JP Pegues shouldn’t last long. Of course, Broome, Jones, and several other recent Auburn stars cut their teeth at the mid-major level before leaping.
