NCAA basketball line odds on Kent State have been pretty low in MAC play in recent seasons as the past nine years have seen the Kent State men’s basketball team produce nine straight 20-win seasons and eight post-season appearances.
Kent State won 12 of their last 15 games last year according to basketball lines numbers. NCAA basketball lines experts believe it could be another 20 win season for Kent since they return nearly everyone from last year. Mike Scott and Haminn Quaintance both return. Scott, a 2007-08 preseason All-MAC selection, led the team and ranked seventh in the MAC in rebounding with 6.4 boards a game last year according to NCAA basketball lines stats. He scored 9.4 points per game according to basketball lines stats. Quaintance had a team best 50 steals and 48 blocks according to NCAA basketball lines stats. Quaintance ended the season ranked third in the MAC with 1.7 blocks per game and fifth in steals with 1.7 per game according to NCAA basketball lines numbers. The frontcourt also has Julian Sullinger and Isaac Knight. Also in the frontcourt will be Brandon Parks and junior college transfer Gabe Garcia. Sullinger increased his production last year to 8.1 points and 5.3 boards a contest according to NCAA basketball lines stats.
Knight played in 29 games last year with one start, averaging 4.3 points per game according to basketball lines stats. Parks played in 11 games averaging 6.4 minutes as a freshman last year according to NCAA basketball lines stats.
Garcia is a 7-0 center from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Also new to the program this year are junior Rashad Woods and freshman Antonio DiMaria. Woods is a junior college transfer from Lee College in Texas according to NCAA basketball lines experts. DiMaria is from the Patterson Prep School in North Carolina last year.
At guard the team looks to replace Armon Gates and Omni Smith. Looking fill that void are sophomores Chris Singletary and Rodriguez Sherman according to NCAA basketball lines stats. Jordan Mincy, Mike McKee and JC transfer Al Fisher also are in the backcourt as NCAA basketball lines experts remember. Last year Singletary and Sherman became the first set of KSU teammates to earn All-MAC Freshman Team honors in the same season. Singletary made 18 starts averaging 6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game according to NCAA basketball lines stats. Sherman averaged 5.7 points and 2.8 rebounds according to basketball lines stats. Last year Mincy led the team with 3.6 assists a game, ranking him seventh in the MAC according to NCAA basketball lines stats.
