The Bulldogs picked up their 28th win of the season – the longest streak in the country – on Saturday against Pacific.  Nigel Williams-Goss had 18 points and seven assists, Johnathan Williams added 12 points and 11 rebounds, and five other players scored in double digits. Gonzaga took a 21-18 lead halfway through the first half, which they closed out with a 22-12 spurt. The Zags opened the second with a 10-3 spurt to further their lead by 20 points. The advantage later ballooned to 70-43 which overwhelmed the Tigers. The Bulldogs are off to the best start in the history of the school, winning 20 consecutive games by double figures. Gonzaga has seven wins against teams in the top 50 in RPI. The Zags have trailed less than 7% of the time this season, and only two times in the second half. And speaking of straight wins, GU has won five in a row against San Diego, as well as 16 of the last 17 and 38 of their last 41 meetings. The Zags routed USD 79-43 on January 26th in their first game this season.

The Toreros snapped a five-game losing streak with a 60-58 double overtime win over Santa Clara on Saturday. Cameron Neubauer had 24 points – including the layup that forced the second OT – and 10 rebounds, Brett Bailey added 10 points, and Tyler Williams had seven points, including the go-ahead buzzer-beating 17-foot jumper. Additionally, freshman guard Nassir Barrino added 6 points and 6 assists in his third consecutive start. San Diego made 10-of-26 three-pointers and out-rebounded the Broncos 40-32. Still, fans who enjoy betting on march madness can’t help but think USD will go back to its losing ways tonight against March madness betting favorite Gonzaga. The Bulldogs lead the all time series 68-22. San Diego’s last win took place on February 22nd, 2014 – a 69-66 win at home. The Zags are not only the only undefeated team in NCAA Division I but one of only three teams in the country undefeated in conference play. Gonzaga is the top ranked team in the AP and coaches’ Top 25 polls for the fourth week in a row. The Bulldogs ranks limit opposing teams to 37.0% shooting from the floor and are third in the nation shooting 51.4% from the floor. Eight of GU’s opponents have shot over 40% from the floor this season. The Zags have outshot opposing teams from the floor all season long. GU is on track to set new program records in points per game and scoring margin. These are among the reasons that the Bulldogs are March madness betting favorites.
