Purdue Boilermakers versus Kansas Jayhawks march madness betting preview

Date: Thursday, 23rd March

Place: Sprint Center – Kansas City, MO

March madness odds:

Purdue +4½ (-110) 156½ (-110) +165
Kansas -4½ (-110) 156½ (-110) -190

Purdue defeated Iowa State in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday for their first Sweet 16 in six years. The B-Makers shot 31 for 64 (48%) and had 27 assists on 31 field goals. Vince Edwards had 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, and Caleb Swanigan had 20 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. Biggie’s performance in this game in particular as well as in general throughout the season has earned him a nomination for the Naismith Award given to the country’s top basketball player. Swanigan averages 18.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game and in the win over the Cyclones became the first major-college player in the last quarter of a century to post 600 points, 400 rebounds and 100 assists in a season.

The Jayhawks beat Michigan State 90-70 in the second round of the tournament on Sunday to clinch a spot in the Sweet 16 for the second straight season. Josh Jackson scored 23 points, Frank Mason III added 20 and Devonte Graham 18, while Landen Lucas had 11 rebounds. It was an especially redeeming performance for Jackson, whose absence in the Big 12 quarterfinals may have had quite a bit to do with KU’s early exit from that tournament.

Michigan Wolverines versus Oregon Ducks march madness betting preview

Date: Thursday, 23rd March

Place: Sprint Center – Kansas City, MO

March madness odds:

Michigan -1½ (-110) 147 (-110) -125
Oregon +1½ (-110) 147 (-110) +105

The Ducks beat Rhode Island 75-72 in the second round of the NCAA tourney on Sunday to make their second consecutive trip to the Sweet 16. The newly-christened ‘Mr. March’ (and not because he’s a big fan of Little Women) Tyler Dorsey scored 27 points – his fifth game in a row with 20 or more points –, Dillon Brooks added 19, and Jordan Bell had 12 rebounds. In spite of which Oregon struggled on the boards without Chris Boucher. Still, Bell did grab a couple of crucial rebounds that allowed the Ducks to maintain possession of the ball, and with it, the lead.

The Wolverines defeated Louisville 73-69 in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday to make their return to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2014. Moritz Wagner scored a career-best 26 points, DJ Wilson added 17, and Derrick Walton Jr. had 10 points and seven rebounds.  Universitas Michigania has won its last seven straight games , which is all the more impressive when considering almost crashed and burned on their way to the Big Ten Tournament. Like, literally. After the game, head coach John Beilein was so overflowing with joy he couldn’t help but squirt all over his players. With a water gun. The Cards entered the game as a March madness betting favorite, but the Wolves managed to upset the March madness odds.
