March Madness odds will have a number of Mid-Major teams on the betting board in the next couple of weeks. Many conference tournaments are playing their championship games this week and some teams have already punched their ticket in March Madness betting.
March Madness odds will feature Winthrop on the board as they upset Coastal Carolina to win the Big South. The Missouri Valley crowned their champion so it will be Northern Iowa on the March Madness betting board. The Panthers would have made the tournament anyway but now they might be more than just a 12 or 13 seed.
This is the week where a number of other Mid-Major teams will get into the NCAA Tournament. The West Coast Conference will be sending Gonzaga to the big dance and St. Mary’s is also very much in the picture. The Big Sky will be playing their title game this week where Weber State or Northern Colorado will probably get the bid. Other conferences like the Southland, Mid-American and Horizon League will also be sending their champs in March Madness odds. Butler is already going to make it from the Horizon League while Wright State could also take a bid if they upset the Bulldogs in the title game.
The NCAA Tournament gets much of the attention in March Madness but conference tournament week is even crazier. There are so many teams on the board that it outdoes even the NCAA Tournament. There are big conference tournaments like the Big East and Big 12 that will get a lot of TV coverage. The action is simply fantastic this week as for many of the teams it is their last chance to get into the NCAA Tournament. The Mid-Majors that you hear so much about are the ones that make the noise early in the week as they play their title games while later in the week it is all about the bigger conferences. The Big East, SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC, Pac-10 and others have their conference tournaments this week. All of this comes to a close on Sunday and then the NCAA Tournament field will be announced.
The best time of the college basketball season is here and it lasts for almost a month with great games almost every day. The conference tournaments are exciting and they provide a great lead in to next week’s NCAA Tournament.
