NCAA basketball betting favors Villanova on Wednesday as they host South Florida. The Wildcats have lost two straight and that has not happened in a long while. They should not lose three straight as they are favored to defeat South Florida in college basketball betting.
NCAA basketball betting had South Florida on the NCAA Tournament bubble but a home loss to St. John’s has put them back on the outside looking in. A win on Wednesday at Villanova could put them right back in the picture. It will be the first meeting between South Florida and Villanova this NCAA basketball betting season. Preparing for the fast-paced attack of Villanova is not easy so South Florida has a real challenge. “That is our league. We play three teams twice and the majority of the teams we just play once.” Head coach Stan Heath said, “I don’t think it is a plus or a minus. They are in the same boat as us, but they are awfully good. They know who they are, they know what they do and they have great leadership and experience out of Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fisher.” South Florida had a chance to upset Villanova last season but couldn’t get it done late in the game. “It’s still a game that within the last three minutes we had a legitimate chance to pull off, we just didn’t get through.” Heath said.
Villanova has lost two straight so they should be in a foul mood on Wednesday. Villanova was looking at a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but now that seems unlikely unless they run the table and win the Big East Conference tournament. “I think the good thing about our team is that they understand how to move on to the next game,” Villanova coach Jay Wright said, “When we were winning, that’s what we told them. It’s what we always talk about.” Villanova should be ready for this NCAA basketball betting matchup on Wednesday. “It’s been a long time since we lost back-to-back games,” Reynolds said. “I can’t hang my head and I can’t let the other guys hang their (heads) either.”
Villanova has won the three previous meetings against South Florida and they are 2-1 against the college basketball betting line. The only time South Florida covered the NCAA basketball betting point spread was four years ago at home.
