2018 SEC Tournament TV Coverage: SEC Network and ESPN

Opening Night

Opening night for SEC Tournament action is Wednesday with the four bottom seeds playing two games.  Action is hot and heavy with four games on both Thursday and Friday.  Saturday features a semifinal doubleheader.  ESPN televises the championship on Sunday afternoon.

 Kentucky Wildcats

Head coach John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats are the SEC’s marquee basketball program.  Hence, they are a consistent Public Betting NCAA Basketball overlay.  Blue Blood traditional powers like U of K are consistently bet down by the public.  And when a team like Kentucky is off its game that can spell disaster for wagering value.  Red ink flowed for the Wildcats with 17 losses in 31 matchups vs. the line.

Auburn Tigers

Bruce Pearl has worked wonders as head coach of the Auburn Tigers.  Despite the cloud of FBI scandal hanging over his head Pearl led Auburn to its best season in years.  Remarkable still is that he publicly refused to cooperate with his school’s leadership on the scandal.  For almost any other coach that would be grounds for the firing squad.  Yet for Pearl he was allowed to continue on.  Profits flowed with 19 payouts in 29 Auburn games.  However, Aubie may be running on fumes.  Finishing with just one cover in their final five games indicates Auburn’s slipping value.

Tennessee

Coming out of nowhere to tie Auburn for the regular season title was Tennessee.  Rick Barnes turned in a phenomenal coaching job for the Volunteers.  Closing strong with seven payouts in their final ten games, UT is getting newfound attention.  Defensively they may be the best team in the SEC.  Also finishing strong was Arkansas with six covers in their final eight games.   Few teams in the SEC can match the Razorbacks 29th ranked offense.  Mike Anderson coaches Arkansas with a “40 Minutes of Hell” style that entertains.

Missouri

Missouri closed strong as well with six online sportsbook wins in ten games.  Best of all was that the Tigers fought hard after losing key players due to injury.  Head coach Cuonzo Martin’s first season at Mizzou has Tiger fans optimistic about the future.

Matchup to Watch

Public Betting NCAA Basketball action should find the SEC Tournament hyper competitive.  Several bona fide contenders have a legitimate shot at the title.  Tennessee’s strong close and tight defense are attention grabbers.  On the other hand, Arkansas has the offense to stay with anyone.  Stealing wins is a lot easier when you can score like the Razorbacks.
