2015 Tigers of Auburn Team Preview

2015 Tigers of Auburn Team Preview and Analysis. As we stated in our earlier NCAA Football previews, with the regular NCAA FB season starting on Thursday the 3rd of September 2015 we will continue to preview teams that are headed for a winning seasons.

So today we are previewing the Tigers of Auburn who have struggled trying to duplicate their dream season under 1st year coach G. Malzahn in the 2013 season. That was when they almost won a national championship. But then in 2014 it appeared as they experienced what many title a sophomore slump, as they lost 4 of their last 5 games in 2014 and ended the season with 8 wins and 5 losses. Yes, the Tigers of Auburn had quite a few offensive players exit in the offseason, but they made some large move on their defensive unit, and that they think will improve their position in the very competitive SEC Conference this season.

The Tigers Coach Malzahn will need to find 6 starters for the offense and that includes replacing QB N. Marshall. Now the coach must tailor the game for the incoming QB J. Johnson as he had for Marshall. Johnson the junior QB surely is able, and the roster still has a lot of weapons to be used. Like senior WR’s D. Williams, R. Louis and talented junior college transfer J. Smith this season.

A big difference should be expected in the defense, as Auburn signed W. Muschamp as the DC and he is the highest paid in the FBS for defensive coordinator for 2015. Thus far he convinced No. 1 prospect B. Coward to leave his home state of Florida and sign with the Tigers of Auburn. The Coach will also have C. Lawson returning from injury, and last season’s top tacklers in K. Frost, J. Ford and C. McKinzy on the defensive roster. Thus with a well rounded roster on offense and defense, the Tigers early odds are at +1,200 to gain the National Title this season.

An important player for the Tigers this season certainly will be their QB J. Johnson, who will find it difficult to fill the shoes of departing QB Marshall. However QB Johnson, in the game that he did start in the 1st half, had a great 30 minutes with 2 TD’s, completing 12 of 16 passes for 244 yards, then had QB Marshall comeback for the 2nd half of the game. That was the opening game of the season against the Razorback of Arkansas, and QB Marshall, for whatever reason was suspended for the 1st half of that game.

He is not a Marshall style QB, but more conventional, but he can be great, and if the defense has improved as planned, we can look for Auburn to make a run for the National Title with QB Johnson in the lead.

As in almost all years the important game for the Tigers of Auburn is on the 28th of November 2015 with the Crimson Tide of Alabama in the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In that game last season the Tide tamed the Tigers to the score of Bama 55 Auburn 44. However the Iron Bowl this season returns to the Jordan-Hare Stadium of Auburn as the new Tigers will await the Tide of Alabama.

With the SEC being a vicious conference, the Tigers of Auburn it’s a very tough road to the playoffs, but if they are to make the final four it will depend on whether they can beat the Tide in the Iron Bowl this season.

For those that Bet on College at SBG sportsbook or like betting sites, the experts predict that Auburn will win 10 games and lose 2 this season, but that’s not good enough to get them to the playoffs or win the SEC Title this season.
