At the onset of the season, the North Carolina Tar Heels were touted as betting on College Football Playoff material. Cause by the return of superstar quarterback Sam Howell. But what the pajama boys and football men that should have known better ignored were the supporting cast. North Carolina lost its four most productive players from the 2020 offense that lit up the scoreboard. As a result, Howell was often fending for himself and lacking his last year’s help. North Carolina is barely bowl eligible. On the positive, coach Mack Brown is putting together another great recruiting class.

North Carolina Tar Heels Bowl Preview
As far as his head coaching career, Mack Brown is looking better by the minute. And it all goes back to Texas, where he was the most successful coach since the legendary late great Darrell Royal patrolled the Burnt Orange sidelines. Brown led Texas to the 2005 national championship. Also, he produced a berth in the 2009-season national championship game.
But when star quarterback Colt McCoy went down early in the 2010 Rose Bowl sports betting loss to Alabama, things have never been the same on the 40 Acres. Subsequently, Brown was fired after the 2013 season as he could never jumpstart the program.
However, Texas has done worse since his departure. Meanwhile, Brown has had a nice second coming at North Carolina, where he coached from 1988 through 1997. To show, he led the Tar Heels to final national rankings of 10th in 1996 and 6th in 1997.
Brown’s Betting on College Football success at Chapel Hill was recalled as he worked the TV studio at ABC and ESPN after departing Texas. When North Carolina reached rock bottom in 2018, they called Mack Brown and asked him to return Carolina Blue to glory.
Mack Brown is a natural recruiter and salesman. He has stocked the Tar Heel roster with quality talent. Now comes the quest for a breakout season for 2022.
