There is no question that Alabama is the class of the SEC West, if not the entire conference. However, there will be an East Division champion that will face Bama in the SEC Championship Game. Namely, the Georgia Bulldogs are the heavy favorite to win the SEC East Division. Nobody else in the East Division is taken seriously as a College Football betting alternative. But as long-time observers know, Georgia is not a reliable power. It is true the Bulldogs are the most talented team in the East. But they’re a program that consistently shoots itself in the foot.

2021 SEC East Division SBG Odds Overview
On this occasion, casual money will flood the sportsbook betting window in Georgia. Consistently strong recruiting has the attention of the masses. While sharps acknowledge Georgia’s five-start talent, they don’t see much value. Florida is the second choice in the SEC East based on their 2020 division title. But gamblers wonder about who replaces quarterback Kyle Trask. More emphatically, many bettors see the biggest threat to Georgia being Georgia.
Georgia Bulldogs +200
Starting with quarterback JT Daniels is optimism high for a UGA East Division title. Daniels took over at QB late in the 2020 campaign and made an immediate impact. Most important of all, the Bulldogs have a diversified attack. To be exact, UGA’s roster is loaded with running backs that will keep defenses honest. Defensively the Bulldogs rank as one of the nation’s elite teams. Head coach Kirby Smart has promised to modernize the UGA offensive attack. In turn, Daniels is the final piece of the puzzle necessary to pull that off.
Florida Gators +1600
Of major concern was the erratic behavior of Florida coach Dan Mullen last January. Mullen led the Gators to a tremendous season and near-upset of Alabama in the SEC championship game. But Mullen publicly made himself a candidate for NFL coaching jobs. And during the 2020 campaign, his behavior was bizarre. He incited a near riot in a home game vs. Mizzou. His rant regarding Florida allowing full attendance capacity was hyperbolic.
Perhaps Mullen wanted out of Florida because of the massive loss of top talent from his 2020 team. Quarterback Kyle Trask headlined a huge departure of offensive talent. So too, is the defense in need of improvement. Ultimately a defense that could have slowed down Alabama just a little bit could have made the difference in the SEC title game. Although Florida remains a good program, they don’t look dominant.
Missouri Tigers +4500
Head coach Eli Drinkwitz jumpstarted a stagnant Mizzou program in 2020. In fact, the Tigers were bowl-eligible. Quarterback Connor Bazelak took the mantle last year for Mizzou. Extending the optimism for the Tigers is that Bazelak is poised for a breakout season. Mizzou still has a lot of work to do defensively.
Kentucky Wildcats +5500
Counter to Missouri is a Kentucky team that is strong defensively but punchless on offense. New play-caller Liam Coen is tasked with getting the offense up to speed.
