2024 Auburn Tigers Preview
Auburn hopes to make a splash in coach Hugh Freeze’s second online betting season. The schedule is more manageable than it has been in a long time. Namely, quarterback Payton Thorne will have a better cast around him. Also, a more organized system should keep the offense on the field longer than in previous seasons.
Auburn’s offense needed a revamp after the first College Football Betting year of the Hugh Freeze era. The Tigers had the worst passing offense in the SEC (162.2 ypg). Auburn did lose some key pieces to the NFL and graduation. Still, the Tigers should be more of a threat to get to the passer in 2024 than a season ago. Now Hugh Freeze, who was fired at Ole Miss for contacting hookers on his burner phone while thumping his Bible on Twitter, is in his second season. To his credit, Freeze is a highly regarded football mind and strong recruiter.
Despite a strong and proud football history, the Auburn Tigers have always played in the state’s shadow of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
