Last season was a successful homecoming for Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm in 2023. Brohm, the former starting QB and alum of the Cardinals, led The Ville to the ACC championship game. Correlate that Louisville had a record of 10-4 with a final national ranking of 19th. Louisville fans are hyped for the future after such a smashing debut by Brohm. If anyone doubts Brohm, they should look at his previous stops at Western Kentucky and Purdue. Overall, at Purdue, Brohm went 36-34, including 9-4 and 8-5 in his final two years. Purdue went to four bowl games in six seasons under Brohm and made the 2022 Big Ten championship game. For Purdue, that is as good as it can get.
2024 Louisville Cardinals Preview
Louisville will have more talent and experience in Year 2 under coach Jeff Brohm. The returning players are more comfortable in his offshore betting system. In comparison, the newcomers bring more talent to a team that just played in the program’s first ACC Championship Game last year. The Cardinals appear to have what it takes to make the conference title game again this season.
The Cardinals’ offense will reflect head coach Jeff Brohm’s style much more in Year 2. Due to seventh-year quarterback Tyler Shough’s decision to transfer to Louisville from Texas Tech. When healthy, Shough has a strong arm and gives U of L the ability to throw downfield. At the same time, he can pick up short yardage when necessary.
Chris Bell will likely be one of Shough’s best College Football Betting weapons as a more physical receiver. In contrast, Ja’Corey Brooks and Caullin Lacy add speed. Louisville may not have the depth it wants at wide receiver. But the Cardinals compensate for that with an experienced tight end room. Louisville pulled in three transfers and returned players like Nate Kurisky and Jamari Johnson.
The Cardinals are shallow at some positions along the defensive line and at safety. But they have a strong group of cornerbacks that could prove to be a team strength. Following the loss of Jarvis Brownlee, the Cardinals acquired plenty of quality replacements. Defensive coordinator Ron English calls the cornerback room one of the best groups he’s had in a long time.
Nearly all the success enjoyed by the Louisville football program has taken place in the last two decades. Since 1998, the Cardinals have appeared in 16 of the program’s 21 bowl games. And they’ve had just two losing seasons in that span. The Cards have also been a member of four conferences in that stretch. But they appear to have found a home in the ACC.
