The Tennessee Volunteers needed a bye week after beating the Oklahoma Sooners. Consider that Tennessee spent plenty of energy and emotion on getting coach Josh Heupel a revenge win. Specifically, Heupel beat the alma mater that fired him as offensive coordinator a decade ago. Last week, Tennessee was on the ropes much of the night but escaped with a College Football Betting win over the Florida Gators. Now comes one of the biggest games of the college football season. The Vols will host the Alabama Crimson Tide on Rocky Top.

The Gators were the only team to score in the first half. They scored three points with chances to score more. But the Vols’ defensive effort limited the damage. Tennessee’s offense was very bad in the first half, with two turnovers. The Gators scored the first touchdown of the half as Graham Mertz threw a touchdown pass to Arlis Boardingham. However, this came with a huge price to pay, as Mertz was visibly hurt going off the field.
Finally, Tennessee scored in the third quarter, thanks to a rushing touchdown from star running back Dylan Sampson. Sampson and the Vols had momentum. Correlate that it carried over to defense when Arion Carter had a huge interception to put the Vols right back into the red zone. The Vols walked away with a field goal, which tied the game.
Late on, Sampson would have the opportunity to break another run, and he did. The Vols would have their first lead of the game. Following a great return, the Gators would have nothing going for them as Tennessee would sack Lagway on 3rd and 12.
