Badgers vs. Crimson Tide – Preview

With the 2015 NCAA Football season upon us, we take a look at an upcoming game with the AP No. 20 Badgers of Wisconsin playing the AP No. 3 Crimson Tide of Alabama with the game being played at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday the 5th of September at 8 PM ET and seen on ABC TV. The opening Vegas odds have the Tide favored at -10 with the Over/under at 53 and the underdog Badgers at + 10 with no money line available at this time.

With this game being played at the home of the NFL Dallas Cowboys and will feat this opening game between Alabama and Wisconsin, and the question is, will the Badgers upset the Tide or will Alabama take the lead from the beginning of this game?

For those that Bet on College football at an Online sportsbook and are fans of the Badgers of Wisconsin your teams head coach P. Chryst has his 1st official game as coach, and they no longer have their star RB M. Gordon, but the team still believes they can beat the Tide Boys in the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

This season the Badger will be looking for RB Clement to take the place of departed RB Gordon, as a back-up in 2014 Gordon carried the ball 148 times for 950 yards. But the Badgers will be playing against the 2014 4th ranked defense in the Tide of Alabama and returning 9 starters, thus they may find the rushing game difficult. So for the Badgers to win they need passing game to step up, so has the Tide can’t storm their backfield.

Their QB for 2015 is J. Stave who last season only scored 9 TD’s and passed for a mere 1,360 yards, but this season he has a star WR returning in A. Erickson who scored 3 TD’s and had 55 receptions and some 780 yards receiving. In their last 10 games the Badgers of Wisconsin are with 5 wins and 5 losses against the spread.

For the Alabama fans surely you know that the Tide is overflowing with talent on both offense and defense for this 2015 season. The question is can Coach Saban lead his Tide to another National Title, this time in the era of the CFP’s. This 1st game makes it tough to evaluate the team, bit at least if will be a good test to start the 2015 season.

The Tide lost star QB Sims, RB T. Yeldon and WR A. Cooper but have some talent recruits and rookies to step into action. A new QB has not been named but the favorite to start is QB J. Coker, but he recently sprained his ankle, so may not start against the Badgers. If that’s the case they have 2 freshmen in QB B. Barnett and D. Cornwell as options to start in this game. Fortunately whoever starts, they have some talented and experienced receivers in C. Black, A. Stewart, R. Foster and rookie recruit C. Ridley.

At RB the Tide has veterans K. Drake and D. Henry with Henry ended the 2014 season with 3 TD’s and 382 yards on the rush, while Drake scored 8 TD’s on 695 total rushing yards. Notably Henry had 5-100 yard games and they were all indoors like this AT&T Stadium. Thus the Badgers need to watch Henry in this Stadium very closely as The Tide of Alabama makes their season debut there.

Alabama as noted earlier is the Vegas favorite at -10, and the prediction is that the Tide covers and beats the Badgers 35-22.
