BCS wagering fans have gotten a solid helping of the Big 12 in the debut BCS college football betting poll. The conference has been a step behind much of the country over the past two years but this year it’s stolen the spotlight from the SEC, Big 12 and Pac 10, at least in the BCS wagering rankings. Not every BCS college football betting fan is surprised to see so many Big 12 teams high up in the BCS wagering rankings, but many sports bettors are wondering if this conference is really that good, or if it’s simply benefited from a kind collective schedule prior to conference play.
BCS wagering rankings, for the most part, reflect the AP and coaches poll, and both of those also agree that the Big 12 is for real this season. The top team in the country according to all the polls and the BCS wagering rankings is the Texas Longhorns. And 40% of the top ten teams in the polls and the BCS wagering ranking are all from the Big 12. That’s a very impressive accomplishment considering that not many BCS college football betting thought that conference would feature much top talent aside from Texas and Oklahoma.
Both of these teams have been outstanding and feature two of the best QBs in BCS college football betting. These teams’ success in the BCS wagering is not surprising. But what about Oklahoma State and Texas Tech? What BCS wagering fan would have picked these two teams to debut so high in the inaugural BCS wagering rankings? OK state debuts at number six on the list and the Red Raiders are opening up in the BCS wagering fans rankings in the eight spot.
To have four teams ranked in the top ten is unmatched in BCS wagering this year. But now that the heart of the conference schedule is about to go down there will very likely be huge upheaval in the Big 12 and by extension the BCS wagering top 10. If any team in the Big 12 wants to finish in the top five they will have to run the table in the conference schedule. It seems unlikely that that Big 12 will be able to maintain such a stellar place in the BCS wagering rankings as they will beat each other up in the coming weeks. But expect at least one team to finish in the top five BCS wagering rankings and most probably earn an invite to the BCS wagering championship game.
