Bet on College Football at SBG as the Cornhuskers take on the Wolverines

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Michigan Wolverines

At the beginning of his arrival Scott Frost was seen as a savior for Nebraska football.  For that reason, the Big Red’s 0-2 start has been a major disappointment.  Yet blame cannot be placed on Nebraska’s favorite son.  Namely Frost inherited a program that was busted out.  Indeed, the Huskers became a bet on College Football pariah last year.  It follows that poor leadership over the past few years destroyed the program.  By contrast to his Central Florida team Frost has learned a hard lesson.  Fixing Nebraska is going to take a long time.

Michigan Wolverines

Starting with last season’s 8-5 record Michigan faced plenty of bet on College Football criticism and doubt.  Furthermore their 2018 opening loss at Notre Dame was a massive letdown.  However, since then the Maize and Blue have won two in a row.  Initially the offense was roasted for its terrible performance at Notre Dame. In comparison the last two games have been much better.  Although it is true that the competition was far weaker.  Last week the Wolverines won 45-20 as 37-point overlays against SMU.  More emphatically they played sloppy and with little passion.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

In comparison, Nebraska lost to Troy 24-19 as 13-point home overlays.  In turn the Big Red is 0-2 both straight up and against the spread.  Commencing with the injury to freshman sensation Adrian Martinez Nebraska’s offense has struggled.  Sophomore walk on Andrew Bunch has been pedestrian as replacement.  Naturally the Huskers held Martinez out against Troy to have him ready for Michigan.  In like manner the Maize and Blue’s physical defense worries Husker fans.  In particular Martinez missed his senior season with a shoulder injury.  As a result, his health is a constant concern.

Stats to Consider

A clear difference exists between Nebraska’s reputation and reality as a board value.  Along the same lines the Huskers have paid in 11 of their last 15 games as a road dog.  At the same time 10 of their last 12 as a road pup have soared over the total.  Balanced against that is Michigan’s subpar performance as a home chalk.  To be exact the Maize and Blue are 4-9 vs. the odds laying points at the Big House.  And seven of their last 11 in that situation went under the total.

Team vs Team

To begin with the Huskers may be a better value than expected.  Nebraska has beaten the sportsbook in three of their last four games with Michigan.  And the last two meetings have gone under the total.   Further, the Big Red won and covered their last visit to Michigan Stadium 17-13 in 2013.

Matchup to Watch

For one thing this is a bet on College Football matchup of marquee brands.  Despite that both teams are yet to realize their full roles as traditional powers.  Of major concern is Michigan’s inability to cover consistently at home.  On the other hand, Nebraska is a reliable road dog.  So too are they a contrarian play that lacks public appeal.

Nebraska vs. Michigan Bet on College Football Picks

In sum the Wolverines are consistent home overlays.  More empathically the Big Red will be a solid betting value.
