Bet College Football – Mississippi St a Three Touchdown Favorite vs. Memphis

Mississippi St is laying 21 points to Memphis in their opening game and it is likely they will get the bulk of the action from gamblers who bet college football. The game can be seen on ESPN U on Saturday, September 4th which means a little added interest since NCAA betting gamblers can watch the contest. Bet college football numbers at SBG favor Mississippi State since the Bulldogs are considered a far better squad than Memphis. The Tigers have a new head coach in Larry Porter and a lot of rebuilding to do. Mississippi State also has some key players to replace but they play in a tougher conference.

Can Memphis Score?  The Tigers were poor on offense last season at 21.8 points per game.  The team needs to find a starting quarterback between Tyler Bass, Cannon Smith and Andy Summerlin.

They also need to find a new starting running back and new receivers. It doesn’t sound promising does it?  The only positive is that Memphis was rotten with the players they had so perhaps the newcomers can be better.

Can Memphis Stop Anyone?  Memphis was officially horrible on defense last season. They were 116th in the country in total yards allowed.  The team does have some new blood this season and that can only be viewed as a positive.  Marcus Ball could be a good one as he comes over after playing at Florida State.

Bulldogs:  Mississippi State has some talent but they also have questions.  They are trying to find a starting quarterback.  Junior Chris Relf is battling Tyler Russell and Dylan Favre for the starting job.  Head coach Dan Mullen may end up playing more than one quarterback this season.

Mississippi State still has Chad Bumphis so they are going to score against this Memphis defense.  This is a much different Mississippi State team than a year ago as they have to replace Anthony Dixon and a number of other starters.

Lay the Points:  This looks to be a game where you lay the points and hope the Bulldogs cover in NCAA betting.  Memphis is not a very good team and Mississippi State should be able to grind out a win and have a chance to cover.
