At the beginning of every Miami Hurricanes season are phrases littered with the word “swagger.” That has been a moniker associated with “The U” dating back to their glory days from 1983 through 2002. As you can see that’s a very long time ago. Today’s recruits were in diapers the last time Miami was a betting on college football Power. To show the last time the Canes completed a season in the top ten was in 2003. Last year’s Pinstripe Bowl was the epitome of swagger. For Wisconsin that is. UW destroyed the U 35-3. Massive change followed.

Rise and Fall of Mark Richt
Miami alum Mark Rich led Miami to a second in the nation ranking late in the 2017 season. A national TV betting on college football win over Notre Dame sparked memories of the glory years. But from there the Canes went 7-9 until Richt tossed in the towel. Miami finished 7-6 for 2018 and paid just five times. Of great concern was an offense that ranked 105th overall and 113th for passing. Making matters worse Richt was his own offensive coordinator. Meanwhile, the Manny Diaz led defense ranked fourth in the land. Hence, Diaz was named head coach.
Offensive Offense Turns to Enos
Now Diaz top job is to produce a complimentary offense to the defense. Enter offensive coordinator Dan Enos. Namely, Enos suck out from Alabama without telling Nick Saban he was gone. Enos inherits a host of quarterback candidates. N’Kosi Perry was an alternate starter last year. In brief, he showed potential with a 13/6 touchdown to interception ratio. However, his 5.7 yards per attempt was abysmal. Jarren Williams played in one game last year and will challenge. As will Ohio State transfer Tate Martell.
A Hurricane of Receivers and Backs
On the whole Buffalo transfer, KJ Osborn is slated to be top receiver. Jeff Thomas and Brevin Jordan gained valuable experience last year. Osborn caught 53 passes for 892 yards in 2018. Thomas hauled in 25 catches for 16.1 yards per reception. While Jordan caught 32 passes with four touchdowns. Also bringing offshore betting optimism is running back Deejay Dallas. Last year Dallas ran for 617 yards, 5.7 YPC, and 6 TD. Line coach Butch Barry has a major challenge in getting the offensive line up to par. Due to Miami’s skill, just an average offensive line could prove to be enough.
Turnover Chain Gang
Contrarily to offense, the Diaz led defense did bring some famed Miami Swagger. Notwithstanding the collapse under Richt the “Turnover Chain” gang remains a hit with fans and gamblers. Defensive end Jonathan Garvin will anchor the line. Furthermore, Shaquille Quarterman and Michael Pinckney lead of the nation’s top linebacking units. This tandem proved to be a key betting on college football asset for a combined 25 tackles for loss. Trajan Bandy will need to lead an inexperienced secondary.
