Betting on NCAA Football at SBG on the Longhorns vs. Wildcats

Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats

At the onset of the season Texas was expected to make a major splash and contend for the Big 12 title.  Commencing with their week one loss to Maryland panic and outrage set in.  As a matter of fact, second year head coach Tom Herman faced the first serious doubts and criticism since taking over.  Alternatively, Kansas State got mild preseason nods for a potential dark horse run in the Big 12.  But a couple of bad betting on NCAA Football losses have exposed them as incapable.   For that reason, speculation is mounting about when coach Bill Snyder will retire.

Texas Longhorns

Texas is coming off its most impressive Betting on NCAA Football performance so far in the Herman era.  Consider the Longhorns 31-16 home payout over TCU as three-point dogs.  Quarterback Sam Ehligner threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns.  Extending the big day was the defense forcing four TCU turnovers.  As a result, Texas is now 3-1 straight up and 2-2 against the spread.  Further, they have split their four games on totals.  By reason of mediocre national rankings do the Longhorns still face doubts.  Texas ranks 70th nationally for total offense and 61st for total defense.

Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State suffered an ugly 35-6 loss with the offshore bookmaker last week at West Virginia.  Consequently, the Wildcats are 2-2 both straight up and vs. the line.  KSU has gone under the total three times on the season.  Of major concern are the Wildcats national rankings.  As an illustration K State ranks 110th for total offense and 93rd for total defense.  As a result, there is legitimate worries about the future.  Many believed that KSU overachieved in reaching a bowl in 2017.

Stats to Consider

Consistent with the bad start is the possibility Snyder will eventually be compared negatively to coaches such as Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden.  Indeed, coaches who stay around too long are a sad story but its now a distinct possibility at K State.  While Snyder never hauls in highly ranked recruiting classes he has had a knack of finding all the right pieces.  For that reason, the current ugly numbers are quit disturbing.

Team vs. Team

Overall Texas has struggled as a betting value against Kansas State.  For example, K State has paid in 11 of the last 14 between these two teams.  Four of the last five between the Longhorns and Wildcats have gone under the total.  Furthermore, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium the Wildcats have ruled the cashier’s cage against the Burnt Orange.  To show K State has won and covered their last five home games against Texas.

Matchup to Watch

As mentioned earlier K State has the huge betting on NCAA Football advantage in this series.  Balanced against that is the fact they were a much better program then.  Additionally, Texas was nowhere near their normal level of excellence.  Owing to current form it looks as if things may be changing.
