College Football Betting – ESPN U has Central Michigan at Temple on Thursday

Thursday’s college football betting includes a MAC game on ESPN U has Temple hosts Central Michigan. The Chippewas have dominated the MAC in recent seasons but they had to replace a lot of starters this season and may not be as strong.  Temple is expected to be improved this season but they were fortunate last week to get by Villanova.  Which way will Sbgglobal gamblers go as they bet on college football with this game?

Central Michigan beat Hampton last week 33-0 but so what?  It means nothing.  Hampton is not even worthy of mention as competition so we have no idea how good Central Michigan will be this season.  The offense for the Chippewas was not very good even though the final score won’t indicate it.  Ryan Radcliff is the new starting quarterback and he really didn’t do too much.  The defense didn’t allow Hampton to score but what else would you expect?  Hampton is not much better than a high school team.

Temple was able to get a 31-24 win over Villanova last week before the second largest crowd to watch a Temple game at Lincoln Financial Field.  It is hard to know how good Temple is after that win since Villanova is not terrible. Temple has a good quarterback in Chester Stewart but their defense is not very good.  The Owls do have a very good running back in Bernard Pierce and he is capable of taking over this game against Central Michigan.

Week 1 Results Mean Nothing – When you get ready to bet on college football with this game you are better off not even looking at last week.  Central Michigan beat a pathetic Hampton team while Temple just got by Villanova.  Neither result tells us very much.  The Owls are expected to be MAC title contenders and if the preseason predictions are correct they should win this game on Thursday night against a rebuilding Central Michigan team.

Series History – Central Michigan and Temple have met twice in their history and the Chippewas won both times. They won 24-14 at home two years ago while they won 42-26 at Temple in 2006.  The teams split those two games against the odds in NCAA football betting.
