College Football Betting Line – Mississippi vs. Alabama on ESPN 2

The Alabama Crimson Tide is heavily favored on the college football betting line to bounce back on Saturday as they host Mississippi. The Crimson Tide lost for the first time in the regular season in almost two years this past week against South Carolina and they fell from #1 to #8 in the polls.  It will be interesting to see how they do this week in college football lines against an Ole Miss team that can score.

Alabama -21.5 at the Sbg global sportsbook – The Crimson Tide are laying a lot of points against Mississippi.  Ole Miss won last time out against Kentucky but they are taking a huge step up in class against Alabama.  The Rebels can score points but they can’t stop anyone.

Mississippi Numbers – Ole Miss is 15th in the nation in points per game so we know they can score. The problem is they are simply horrible on defense. They are 103rd in the country in points allowed per game.

This Game Screams Over the Total – Alabama can score but their defense is suspect.  We knew going into this season that the Alabama defense was not as good as a year ago and that is definitely the case. Alabama is still 5th in the country in points allowed but they were exposed last week in the loss to South Carolina.  Alabama can score as they are 27th in the country in points per game. They should score a lot on Saturday against Ole Miss.  It would seem like this total should be in the 60’s. Five of the last six Mississippi games have gone over the total.  As a road underdog, 19 of their 27 games have gone over.  13 of the last 19 Alabama conference games have gone under but this year’s defense definitely goes against that trend.

Good Trends for Both Teams – The Rebels are 7-0 vs. the college football lines in their last 7 games as a road underdog. The Crimson Tide are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Crimson Tide is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite. In this series the Rebels are 4-1 against the college football betting line in their last 5 meetings but the home team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.
