Florida State will try and bounce back from a heart-breaking loss last week to NC State and they are favored to do so in college football betting lines. The Seminoles are 10-point favorites in college football odds at Sbgglobal as they host North Carolina on Saturday in a game that can be seen on ABC.
Christian Ponder
Look for Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder to bounce back this week. He fumbled last week when Florida State was on their way to the winning touchdown against NC State. It was a fluke fumble and had Ponder been able to hang on to the ball he had wide receiver Beau Reliford wide open. The Seminoles ended up losing that game 28-24.
North Carolina Injuries
This entire season has been one in which North Carolina has been missing players every week. They either haven’t had eligible players or someone has been hurt. It is not going to be any better this week. The North Carolina secondary is a mess. North Carolina just barely beat William & Mary last week. They should not be able to stay close to Florida State with their injury problems. North Carolina lost another player last week when Terry Shankle suffered a knee injury. The laundry list of players in the secondary who are out is ridiculous. They are without starting cornerback Charles Brown who is ineligible, safeties Jonathan Smith and Brian Gupton who are ineligible, cornerback Mywan Jackson who has a groin injury and cornerback Tre Boston who has an ankle injury.
FSU Should Roll
If Florida State is smart they will just go to a no-huddle offense and throw it every down against North Carolina. The Tar Heels have no chance to stop Ponder and the FSU passing attack. The trends are not in FSU’s favor but sometimes you have to look beyond the numbers. The trends do say that the
Tar Heels are 4-1 against the college football betting lines in their last 5 games in November and they are 16-6 ATS in their last 22 games as an underdog. The Seminoles are 4-9 against the college football odds in their last 13 games as a favorite and they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. This might just be a game to go against the trends though.
