College Football Betting Lines – 2nd Ranked Buckeyes a Huge Favorite vs. Eastern Michigan

Have you noticed the college football betting lines this week? 2nd-ranked Ohio State is laying more than 40 points at home against Eastern Michigan. This game is one of the ABC regionally televised games on Saturday and it is really just a first half showcase for quarterback Terrelle Pryor.  Not many people think this game will be close in terms of the college football odds.

The Buckeyes are 42.5 point favorites at the Sbg sportsbook.  It might be hard to find bettors who will take Eastern Michigan even if the line goes higher.  I mean really, are you going to take a rotten Eastern Michigan team against the second-ranked Buckeyes? This is an Eastern Michigan team that has not won a game since 2008.

Complete Mismatch – This game is a total mismatch.  Eastern Michigan has no chance to keep this game competitive. Their only chance of covering the spread is if Ohio State turns the ball over or comes out flat as a pancake. Even then it might not matter. Ohio State’s defense leads the nation in turnover margin so you can count on them creating turnovers against Eastern Michigan.

Terrelle Pryor – If you are betting on Ohio State to cover the college football odds then you need Pryor to have a great first half. He probably won’t play much in the second half with a big lead. He is 16th in the nation in total offense averaging 293 yards per game.

Red Zone Success – The Buckeyes score when they get into the red zone. They scored all seven times they reached the red zone last week against Ohio.  They are tied for the lead nationally with Oregon for most trips into the red zone and they are third in points scored once there with 98.

Eastern Michigan is Hopeless – This is a bad Eastern Michigan team. They have lost 15 straight and were blown off the field last week by Central Michigan 52-14.  In their three losses the Eagles have given up 1,242 yards, 111 points and an average of 6.3 yards per play. And they have turned it over eight times.  The Eagles are 9-26 against the college football betting lines in their last 35 non-conference games and they are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 vs. the Big Ten.
