College Football Betting Lines – #2 Ohio State at Illinois

Saturday action with the college football betting lines will include a Big Ten Conference opener between the visiting #2 Ohio State Buckeyes and Fighting Illini of Illinois. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 12:05 PM Eastern and Sbg global opened with Ohio State as a 19 point road favorite.  The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

Road Opener
Ohio State has a record of 4-0 straight up and 4-0 with the college football odds as they hit the road for the first time all season.  The Buckeyes are coming off a joke of a game as they toyed with Eastern Michigan in a 73-20 win for an easy payout as 44.5 point home chalks.  Ohio State is best remembered so far this year for getting the money against Miami-FL in a 36-24 statement making win.  The Bucks are tough on both sides of the line as they rank 8th overall for total offense and 5th for total defense.

Pryor’s Heisman Chase
Quarterback Terrelle Pryor has gone from his much maligned moniker of last year to his new status as a bona fide Heisman Trophy candidate.  Pryor leads the Buckeyes in both passing and rushing and has looked sharp in each game so far.  Best of all he has shown a work ethic and humility that has impressed teammates, coaches and handicappers as he constantly is looking to get better.

Second Test
The Fighting Illini of Illinois have won their last two games at home against Southern Illinois followed by Northern Illinois to improve their record to 2-1 straight up and 2-1 with the college football betting lines.  But in their last game against a BCS caliber team on opening day they were waxed by Missouri 23-13 although they got the cash as 13.5 point dogs.  This is a critical 6th season for head coach Ron Zook, who has presided over losing seasons since Illinois’ stunning Rose Bowl year of 2007.

Buckeyes have been Zooked Before
It was in 2007 that Zook scored his signature win at Illinois as the Illini scored a 28-21upset win at OSU as 15.5 point road dogs with the college football odds en route to Pasadena.  The Buckeyes have covered the last two matchups and should be dialed in for this one.
