College Football Betting Lines – Poinsettia Bowl – Navy vs. San Diego State

The Poinsettia Bowl between Navy and San Diego State in college football betting lines should be very entertaining as both teams can score.

The game is very popular in the San Diego area since San Diego State is going to the bowl and also because Navy is in it.  Each team has large fan bases and each team comes into the game with potent offenses so this should be an exciting one to wager on against the college football odds at Sbg global.com.

ESPN will be broadcasting this game between the Midshipmen and the Aztecs.  Navy is in a bowl game for the seventh straight season and even though the game is in San Diego, don’t expect a big home crowd edge for the Aztecs. Navy has a great fan base in San Diego because there is a big naval base in the city.  Bowl officials are expecting about 40,000 fans for this game.  The Poinsettia Bowl has a five year history and the largest crowd came in 2009 when Navy played Utah. It is probable that they will break the record of 39,120 fans that attended that contest. Navy said they want to have 20,000 Navy fans in the stands for the game. This will be the first bowl game for San Diego State since 1998.

This will be the first meeting between San Diego State and Navy since the 1997 season opener when the Aztecs won at home by a score of 45-31. The two teams will meet at Navy in the regular season in 2014 and they will play in San Diego in 2015.

Navy Runs to Victory
The Midshipmen were fifth in the country in rushing heading into their regular season finale against Army.   Ricky Dobbs is a dual threat quarterback and he will be very difficult to stop for the San Diego State defense.

San Diego State Throws to Win
While Navy runs the ball to win, San Diego State throws it. The Aztecs were the 10th best passing team in the country.  Ryan Lindley threw for 3,554 yards this season with 26 touchdown passes.
