College Football Odds – TCU vs. Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl

The best game on New Year’s Day in college football odds should be the Rose Bowl with TCU facing Wisconsin.

It is an intriguing matchup between an unbeaten TCU team that didn’t get a chance to play in the BCS title game against a tough Wisconsin team.  TCU is a slight favorite in college football betting odds at the Sbg sportsbook.

Wisconsin’s Offense vs. TCU’s Defense
This is a great matchup between Wisconsin’s offense and TCU’s defense. The Badgers led the Big 10 in scoring while TCU led the entire country in total defense.  Wisconsin is given more credit for what they did on offense because they played a tougher schedule.  They were unstoppable in their last four games this season as the averaged 58.8 points per game. They should get tested by a TCU defense that allowed just 215.4 yards per game and 11.4 points per game.  Wisconsin is a very balanced offense and they don’t beat themselves. They were third in the country in turnover margin at 1.17.  They lost the ball just nine times this season.

Quarterback Scott Tolzien threw only six interceptions and the team lost just three fumbles. And not to be forgotten is the fact that the Badgers committed just 35 penalties all season. Wisconsin simply does a lot of things right.  TCU has a great defense but they didn’t play anyone like Wisconsin this season. The Badgers have a very efficient quarterback in Tolzien who threw 16 touchdowns on the season and led the country with a 74.3 percent completion percentage.  And we know that Wisconsin can run the ball with John Clay and Montee Ball.

TCU’s Offense vs. Wisconsin’s Defense
On the other side of the ball it is TCU and quarterback Andy Dalton against a Big 10 defense.  Dalton threw for 2,638 yards, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. Winning against teams in the Mountain West and scoring points is one thing but doing it against Wisconsin is another.
