This Friday, December 27 we have another exciting Bowl game coming to us from San Francisco, California. It’s the Fight Hunger Bowl and it is also the first NCAA Bowl game with two females officiating with the game being played at the AT&T Park with kickoff at 9:30 pm ET on ESPN TV as the Washington HUSKIES (8-4, 5-4 Pac12) play the Brigham Young COUGARS (8-4) with the weather not being a factor in California.
At an online sportsbook there was a comment asking how can the Huskies win without their coach as he is no longer with them, but the team has lots of talent and their losses were to Stanford, UCLA, Oregon and Arizona State. However, with college kids this could be a big factor in this game and should make it a very interesting Fight Hunger Bowl.
The center of this team is offensive RB Sankey who this season scored 18 TD’s and in nine of their 12 games he ran for more than 125 yards each of those nine games. They also have plenty of talent on defense. Their coach of this game will be MarquesTuiasosopo a Huskie who was the MVP of the 2001 Rose Bowl game. He has no head coaching experience but has been an assistant for 5 years in the Pac 12 and is regarded as a great in game leader. The new coach who will start the 2014 season is Chris Petersen who was 92-12 at Boise State win their conference five times a with two Fiesta Bowl wins.
At the Offshore Betting sites those that Bet on College football will find that the BYU Cougars are the underdogs in this game at +3 ½ with the total at 59 ½ and on the money line they are +130. Speaking of coaches, the BYU coach Mendenhall is completing his ninth year at BYU as head coach with a bowl record of 6-2 whom also is 2-0 against the Washington Huskies. The Cougars 8-4 record had some great wins and four disappointing losses to Virginia 19-16, Utah 20-13, Wisconsin 27-17 and Notre Dame 23-13 losing each game by a little more than 7 points. The BYU QB Hill this season rushed for 1,211 yards and 9 TD’s and also threw 19 TD passes for the season amassing some 2,645 yards. RB Williams average 5.9 yards per carry and scored 7 TD’s this season. There is a lot of talent on both these teams and should be an interesting matchup.
