2023 Florida State Seminoles Preview
Under the late legendary head coach Bobby Bowden, Florida State won ten or more games every season from 1987 to 2000. Next, under Jimbo Fisher, Florida State won ten games or more in six of seven seasons from 2010 to 2016, with the one outlier a 9-4 2011 campaign before winning the national title two years later. However, that is when the music stopped. Before 2022, the FSU won just sportsbook 20 games throughout four straight losing seasons. Consider that it was at a place that hadn’t known a campaign under .500 since 1975.
Florida State is loaded with talent, helped even more by the transfer porta. Now it has the College Football Betting momentum and upside to take what it did in 2022 up another notch. But caution would be well-advised.
The 24-23 win over LSU early in the 2022 season was amazing. Accordingly, a win is a win, and they all count the same. Still, Brian Kelly’s team almost pulled it off after looking like it could’ve used the tune-up game Florida State enjoyed the week before. LSU and Kelly get a shot at revenge in 2023. The two teams play in this year’s opener. Meanwhile, beating Miami, Florida, and Oklahoma sounds amazing. Cause by all three marquee brand teams finished with losing seasons. This year’s schedule is way nastier for a team with CFP dreams.
Florida State has shown steady improvement in three seasons under coach Mike Norvell. Specifically, the improvement was capped by a 10-3 record last year. But the Seminoles are thinking bigger in ’23. Certainly, with quarterback Jordan Travis leading an explosive offense and most of the defense returning. Hence, Norvell’s squad is among the top teams poised to make a run at the CFB Playoff.
Since 2016, Florida State has not won ten games. Last year they earned a bowl bid for the first time in three seasons. In turn, head coach Mike Norvell has the Seminoles looking for a return to the national limelight. The Seminoles had one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Travis. Also, they have a deep and experienced roster. Thus, they should have a legitimate chance to dethrone Clemson in the ACC and make a run at the College Football Playoff.
