Gamblers Say Roll Tide for Alabama in 2023

Since their 2020-21 season national championship, the Alabama Crimson Tide have slipped a notch. In 2021-22 Alabama went 13-2 and lost the national championship game to Georgia. And then, in 2022-23, they went 11-2 and won the Sugar Bowl. Last season was the first in three years, and the second d time in six, that the Tide failed to make the College Football Playoff. For any other school, this would be a point of pride. But any College Football betting season without a national championship is deemed a failure at Alabama.

2023 Alabama Crimson Tide Preview

Now the Georgia Bulldogs are forging a new dynasty. And the LSU Tigers are back among the elite. Thus, there is no sportsbook guarantee the Tide will roll to the 2023-24 College Football Playoff.

At the onset, the Alabama Crimson Tide enter 2023 with more College Football Betting question marks than the program has had in recent years. Both sides of the ball feature new coordinators (Tommy Rees on offense and Kevin Steele on defense).

The quarterback battle between Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, and the newly added Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner will continue into fall camp. In like manner, the defense is also undergoing a major overhaul in the secondary. Despite these question marks, gamblers know it’s never a good idea to bet against Nick Saban’s program. Especially because of a roster loaded with blue-chip talent on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, Alabama should be able to lean on a deep backfield and an emerging line until they decide on a QB. While defensively, Dallas Turner should be Saban’s next star edge rusher. At the same time, All-America cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry and five-star freshman Caleb Downs will ease the transition in the secondary.

Schedule-wise, road games have been a problem for Alabama over the past two years. Consider the 2023 schedule features a couple of obstacles in trips to Auburn and Texas A&M.

Still, many gamblers will assume that Saban will fix the mental mistakes and penalties that plagued this team in 2022. Most important of all, the roster talent is there to run the table. Correlate a potential superpower showdown for the ages against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

Namely, Paul “Bear” Bryant was long considered the GOAT of college football coaches. Bryant was the John Wayne of college football with a larger-than-life presence and swagger. Bryant would not rant and rave much. Instead, he would glare. And it made the strongest of men cower in fear and or obedience. Bryant won six national championships at Alabama during his career. And he had several other close calls.

Bryant’s greatness leads to Nick Saban. The Nicktator has done the impossible. He has surpassed the legendary and revered Bryan. Including among the Alabama faithful, as the new GOAT of college football coaches.

Saban has won six national championships as the Alabama head coach. He has three other losses in the national championship game. Since 2008, he has led Alabama to double-digit win seasons every year.
