At the onset of his arrival, head coach Mike Norvell was proclaimed the savior of Florida State Football. And there was solid reasoning for that hype. Norvell was coming off a 12-1 season as the head coach of the Memphis Tigers. It was the greatest college football odds campaign in school history. Norvell was seen as the man that would bring a sense of order to Tallahassee. And he has improved the program after two years on the job. Still, Norvell has not produced a winning season or bowl berth. And the fans are running out of patience.

Florida State Seminoles 2022 SBG Future Market Analysis
Once upon a time, the Florida State Seminoles were amongst the biggest online wagering brands in college football. The late great Hall of Fame coach Bobby Bowden built the program into a 2-time national champion. And then Jimbo Fisher won a natty in 2013. Subsequently, the Seminoles made the College Football Playoff in 2014. But from that point came a collapse.
Fisher lost his team by coddling then-quarterback Jameis Winston. The program lost discipline and then more games. Additionally, Fisher did not get the investment from boosters he believed was necessary to contend for national championships. By 2017 Fisher was fed up and quit the team with a game to go.
Willie Taggart replaced Fisher and didn’t last two seasons. Taggart inherited a gutted-out program. However, Taggart was poorly organized and outcoached consistently. He did not have the drive to get the program back on track. As a result, Norvell was seen as the man that could make the heavy lift. Progress has been slow and steady. But “slow” is a no-go with Seminole fans.
Gamblers have lost almost all respect for Florida State. Now the Seminoles are seen as yesterday’s news. And an unfulfilled promise.
A Cloud over Norvell
Norvell has done a good job of building a foundation and infrastructure. He took over a roster loaded with malcontents and locker room lawyers. And he has replaced it with serious players. But Norvell is not a dynamic coaching personality. He is all business.
Deion Sanders is a Florida State alum and currently the head coach at Jackson State. Sanders has made a College football betting odds national splash at Jackson and is a recruiting machine. Thus, Seminole fans see Sanders as the new savior. And that has put Norvell on the hot seat entering the 2022 campaign.
If Norvell is to survive, the Seminoles’ offense must make a giant leap forward. Last season, the attack was punchless. The defense is improved but needs to be complemented by an offense that can put points on the board.
