Kentucky Wildcats Seek Dream 2022 Season

The Kentucky Wildcats have made college football odds history under head coach Mark Stoops. Consider that after going 41 years without a double-digit win season, the Wildcats have reached that landmark twice in the last four years. Such success has raised expectations at this basketball-first school to seemingly insane levels. Now, Kentucky fans are talking about an SEC championship game appearance. 2022 Kentucky Wildcats SBG Odds Overview

Of course, there are several big holes from last season’s Citrus Bowl championship team. But the 2022 roster is loaded with multiple NFL draft prospects returning to school. Further, several important defenders chose to use the extra year of eligibility granted to all players due to the pandemic.

Most important of all, the return of quarterback Will Levis is the primary cause for optimism. Levis has proven himself as Kentucky’s best quarterback in over a decade. Also, there is a genuine online betting reason to believe he can develop into an early-round NFL draft pick with another year in Lexington. But Levis can’t do it all himself.

A Loaded Offense for U of K

Offensive coordinator Liam Coen has rejoined the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. At the same time, star wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, who broke the Kentucky single-season records for catches and receiving, is gone too.

Stoops plans to build on Coen’s success with his new offensive coordinator. Stoops hired former San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello. Most important of all, Scangarello utilizes a similar offense as Coen to make for a smooth transition. But Replacing Robinson will likely be more difficult.

Still, Kentucky signed transfer wide receiver Tayvion Robinson from Virginia Tech. Robinson is unlikely to duplicate Wan’Dale Robinson’s record-breaking season. But the passing game should be less reliant on one receiver. Several strong 4-star prospects have been recruited. Meanwhile, tight end Keaton Upshaw could be a go-to receiver, too, after missing the entire 2021 season with an injury.

Levis could have entered the draft this year. But he saw room for even more College football betting odds improvement after just one season as a starter. Last season, Levis became the first Kentucky quarterback to total 3,000 yards of offense since 2014. He lit the scoreboard with a total of 33 TDs rushing and passing.

But the UK offense has many ways to beat opponents. Running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. needs 1,134 yards to break Benny Snell Jr.’s Kentucky career rushing record. His punishing style should make him one of the best backs in the SEC this fall. Kentucky must replace two NFL draft picks on the offensive line. But the new-look “Big Blue Wall” received positive reviews this spring. Especially at the interior positions.
