LSU at Alabama College Football Betting

College football betting on Saturday is highlighted by a Top-10 matchup between #9 LSU and #3 Alabama in a game that can be seen on CBS television.

The Crimson Tide is a 7.5 point NCAA football betting favorite. College football betting could be turned upside down if LSU is able to pull off the road upset on Saturday.  The SEC title game is expected to be a matchup between Alabama and Florida but if LSU wins this game they would take control of the SEC West and Alabama’s title hopes would be gone. It is a huge game for both teams and the coaches are well aware of the importance. “Our football team wants to compete for the Western Division championship every year. That’s this game.” LSU head coach Les Miles said, “The game is very significant. Our guys understand that.”Alabama had lost five in a row in this college football betting series until last year when the Tide won 27-21 in overtime.  There may not be as many points scored in this NCAA football betting matchup since both teams have excellent defense.  Alabama is fifth in the country in scoring defense while LSU is seventh.

LSU has not been that good getting points in college football betting. The Tigers are 2-5 in college football betting in their last 7 games as an underdog.  They have also struggled within the conference in college football betting. The Tigers are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 conference games.  LSU does have a couple of positive college football betting trends though. The Tigers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings at Alabama and the road team in this series is 11-1-1 in college football betting in the last 13 meetings.

Alabama has been a solid favorite in NCAA football betting. The Crimson Tide are 10-4 in college football betting in their last 14 games as a favorite. Unlike LSU, they are good in conference games. The Crimson Tide are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 conference games.

College football betting trends point to a low scoring game. The last four LSU games have all gone under in college football betting.  Four of the last five Alabama games overall have gone under in NCAA football betting.  With both teams having excellent defense and offenses that are not explosive, a low scoring game could be on tap for Saturday.
