NCAA Betting – Arizona vs. Toledo on ESPN

The college football season opens up on Thursday, September 2nd but you don’t want to forget about the game on Friday, September 3rd in NCAA betting. ESPN will be televising the matchup between Arizona and Toledo on Friday with the Wildcats a 14.5 point favorite in college football betting. NCAA betting at the Sbg sportsbook will likely be light on this game although since it is on ESPN it will get some action.  It should be an entertaining game with the total listed at 59.  Arizona and Toledo should both put points on the board and high scoring games are always fun to watch.

Arizona:  Do you remember the last time you watched Arizona?  It was perhaps the worst bowl performance ever by a Pac-10 team as they were destroyed 33-0 by Nebraska.  Is Arizona any better this year?  The offense for Arizona is going to score points on a regular basis. Quarterback Nick Foles returns in addition to running back Nic Grigsby. The defense for Arizona is another story. They were dominated in fall camp by the offense.  The question to ask in this Friday game vs. Toledo is whether the defense can slow down Toledo.

Toledo:  The Rockets went 5-7 last seasons under head coach Tim Beckman.  The offense was not a problem as they scored the second most points in the MAC. The defense was another story. They were like a high school defense as they allowed teams to run up and down the field on them. They allowed almost 38 points per game. The Rockets should score points again this season with quarterback Austin Dantin and receiver Eric Page. The offensive line returns four starters so the Rockets should move the ball. The defense can’t be any worse than it was a year ago but it is still not very good.

Over the Total:  There is a reason that the total on this game is almost 60.  Neither one of the teams should be able to stop the other.  Arizona’s offense is the strength of their team and Toledo’s offense is far better than their defense.  Betting this total to go over looks to be the way to go and you get to cheer for points being scored all night!
