With the NCAA Football season heading into Week # 3 we will preview a Saturday the 19th of September 2015 game with the Cardinals of Stanford playing at the No. 6 Trojans of the University of Southern California (USC) with the game being played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California with the kick-off scheduled for 8:05 PM ET and can be viewed on ABC TV.
The opening odds at the SBG sportsbook for those that Bet on NFL has the Trojans of USC favored at -10 with the Over/under at 51 ½, while the underdog Cardinals of Stanford are +10 and no ML available at the time of this writing. The Trojans won their 2nd game against Idaho to remain undefeated at 2-0 and seek a 3rd win in this match-up with rival Stanford in this Pac-12 game.
If you’re a fan of the Cardinals of Stanford, you’re team got in the win column with the 31-7 win over the Knights of UCF this past Saturday evening. That victory was important to Stanford who won their 2nd game after losing the 1st of the season to Northwestern.
The Cardinals QB K. Hogan was the leader with his career best 342 yards passing, with 3 that were for over 38 yards, and he also had a flea-flicker to M. Rector for a TD. QB Hogan later in the game completed a 7 yard TD pass to C. McCaffrey and then in the 2nd half a 93 yard connection for a TD to B. Love.
The Cardinals will be seeking a 2nd win when they play the Trojans at the Coliseum on Saturday, but they know that will not be easy as the USC defense to date in 2015 has only allowed 7.5 points per game in their first 2 games of the season. That ranks USC 5th in the FBS in 2015 to date. For the Cardinals to win they need a strong team effort, plus an extra effort from rookie RB Love who last Saturday had 144 yards overall.
The Cardinals defense will be an important part of a team effort that continues as they did against the Knights of UCF only allowing some 2 yard per play. Hopefully they can maintain those stats against USC who in their 1st two games are averaging some 625 yards per game in total offense in 2015, and that ranks 4th in NCAA FB. Stanford in their ultimate 10 games on the road had 5 wins and 5 losses in those games.
For the fans of the Trojans of USC, your team move on to this Pac-12 game against the Cardinals of Stanford after they had a huge win over the Vandal of Idaho 59-9 this past Saturday evening. USC has won their 1st 2 games of the season beating the opponents by an average of 49.5 points each game.
The drive for USC this season has been their hot offense that has averaged scoring each game some 57 points and that amazingly only ranks 6th in college football. Their Q C. Kessler has been the leader in both of the Trojans victories, as in the game against the Vandals he passed for some 411 yards as he completed 26 of his 31 passes and 3 TD’s. His go-to receiver was J. Shuster who had 10 completions for 193 yards a 2 TD’s in that game.
The Trojans have a very efficient offense, as in the game with Idaho they scored 6 times on 7 of their drives in the 1st half, of which 5 scores were TD’s. They completed 74 plays in that game that accumulated some 735 yards. The game this coming Saturday could prove to be a different story for the Trojans, since the Cardinals have a strong defense that to date has only allowed their opponents in 2 games some 11.5 points each game. In the Trojans ultimate 10 home games they had won 8 and lost 2 games. The prediction is this game is that the Trojans of USC will beat the Cardinals of Stanford 31-13 and cover the spread of -10!
