NCAA Football – Georgia Tech vs Clemson

It’s hard to believe we are already moving into the NCAA FB Week 6 Regular Season games, and an interesting game this week in the ACC is the game between the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech playing at the No. 8 Clemson playing on Saturday the 10th of October 2015 at the Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina at 3:35 PM ET.

This game brings us 2 teams at different ends of the spectrum as the Tigers of Clemson beat Notre Dame in a close game to stay undefeated, while Georgia Tech are struggling after a tough loss to the Tar heels of North Carolina. Wondering if the Yellow Jackets can get their team back to winning ways, or is the Tigers who make it their 5th win of the season in this game amongst 2 highly competitive football programs.

If you are a fan who will Bet on College football at a sportsbook and are a fan of the Yellow Jackets of Georgia then certainly you wonder if things can get any more problematic for the team and their Coach P. Johnson after their tough loss 38-31 to the Tar heels of the University of North Carolina, and frustrating since they won their 1st 2 games with high score, then lost the next 3 games.

In that game with UNC the Georgia Tech team had a 21-0 lead at the half, possessing the ball for ¾’s of the 1st half, then in the 2nd half their lead was lost, and topped off by a trick play by the UNC QB M. Williams that ended with a 37 yard TD to give the Tar heels the victory.

The Yellow Jackets QB J. Thomas score 3 touchdowns, 1 by passing and 2 running the ball this past Saturday, but he also struggled with the tough UNC defense. QB Thomas completed just 12 of his 21 pass attempts for some 168 yards passing, and fumbles once with UNC recovering.

With the Georgia Tech QB struggling, the team must concentrate on the run game, as on the past Saturday they had 256 yards rushing, and that would eliminate some costly turnovers, of which they had 4 in the game with UNC.

With the Yellow Jackets on the road to play Clemson at their Memorial Stadium is still under question, as the Tigers have an impressive 5-0 record but have not played outlandish, so the Georgia Tech defense needs to come to life and end the teams difficulties. Before the UNC game the Jackets were only allowing opponents dome 160 total yards each game and were ranked 28th in defense overall.

This game played in what they call Death Valley is not an easy task for the Yellow Jackets as in the previous 5 games at Memorial they have won 2 and lost 3 games.

If you happen to be a fan of the Tigers of Clemson, you know your team prevented a loss to Notre Dame in their last game with the defense providing a strong goal line stand that stopped a 2 point conversion that would have won the game for the Fighting Irish, but with that strong stand the Tigers were victorious 24-22 after they had a 18 point lead in the game that very rapidly disappeared.

The Tigers QB D. Watson had enough team support to overcome the late charge of the Fighting Irish to end the game victorious. The QB was not exactly perfect in his passing game as he only completed 11 of his 22 pass attempts for a mere 96 yards, but was able to find the receivers in the end zone for scores. Two of his TD’s via passing, and he was no short on running the ball, as he had some 16 carries for 92 yards and a score. RB W. Gallman, as sophomore had a good game with 22 carries and rushing for 99 yards in the game.

However, the biggest reason for the win by the Tigers in this close game was the strong and solid play of the defensive team, as in the final moments they made the difference. But one can not overlook that in that game they allowed their Irish opponents some 438 yards, and prior to that game the Tigers defense was ranked overall best at 9th in the nation.

Defensively we can look for LB B. Goodson to get his Tiger team pumped up to stop the Yellow Jackets struggling offense, and keep in mind the Goodson in the game against the Irish had a recovered fumble and a pick in the Saturday victory. The Tigers of Clemson in their ultimate 12 games in the Valley against the spread had 8 wins and 4 losses.

The predictions for this game is that the Tigers of Clemson will handle the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech with the final score Tigers 35 and Yellow Jackets 24.
