NCAA Football – Playoff Preview

With 2015-16 College Football Playoffs just around the corner and a Week 11 schedule filled with exciting games that may determine conference race, we preview and make some 8 picks for the major games on Saturday the 14th of November 2015.

The first game we take a look at is between the Razorbacks of Arkansas (OA-5-4 Conf. 5-4) and the No. 9 Tigers of LSU (OA 7-1 Conf. 4-4) with the opening playoffs odds for those that Bet on College at SBG sportsbook, has the Tigers of LSU favored at -7 ½ with the Over/under at 54 and -300 on ML while the underdog Razorbacks of Arkansas are at +7 ½ and +250 on ML. The game is played at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at 7:15 PM ET.

When Arkansas has played LSU at Baton Rouge in their ultimate 10 meetings they have won 1 game and lost 9 and that includes a spree of 3 consecutive losses. But in their ultimate 3 playoffs games there they at least covered the spread, and that also includes the 2014 upset of the Tigers 17-0 in that game. For the Tigers it’s highly unlikely their star Heisman candidate RB L. Fournette will have to consecutive bad games and the Tigers will seek revenge from the 2014 loss!

The prediction for the game is that LSU will win the game and cover the spread.

The 2nd game brings together the No. 2 Crimson Tide of Alabama (OA 8-1 Conf. 4-5) playing the No. Bulldogs of Mississippi (OA 7-2 Conf. 6-3) the game played at the Davis Wade Stadium in Starksville, Mississippi at 3:30 PM ET. The Opening playoffs odds have the Crimson Tide of Alabama favored at -8 with the Over/under at 50 and -340 on the ML, while the Bulldogs of Mississippi State are +8 and +280 on the ML.

The last 7 games between these 2 SEC rivals has seen the Tide of Alabama win all 7 games by an average of 20 points each games, with the exception the Dogs of Mississippi did cover the spread in the ultimate 2 games. Previously to this game the Bulldogs have played four easy games, but remember after beating LSU the Tide is playing at its best.

Therefore the prediction is that Alabama will cover the spread on the road and beat the Bulldogs.

The 3rd game is between the 2 unranked teams of the Bulldogs of Georgia (OA 6-3 Conf. 3-6) playing at the Tigers of Auburn (OA 5-4 Conf. 3-6) with the game being played at the Jordon-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama with kick-off scheduled for 12:05 PM ET. The odds for the game have the Tigers of Auburn a slight favorite at -1 ½ with the Over/under at 50 ½ and -125 on the ML, while the underdog Bulldogs of Georgia are +1 ½ and +105 on the ML.

Neither of these 2 teams can win the SEC Title but it has always been a high energy rivalry game and they have met some 118 times in their University careers and they are tied at 55-55-8 in that series. In the last game at the Jordon-Hare Stadium the Tigers made a last minute miracle pass for 74 yards to eke out a win over the Dogs 43-38. The 2 playoffs teams have struggled offensively this season, and the Tiger have a better QB that the Bulldogs.

Thus, the prediction is that with the Tigers playing at home they will beat the Bulldogs to win the 56th game of their Series.

The 4th game will see the No. 21Tigers of Memphis (OA 8-1 Conf. 4-4-1) playing at the No. 24 Cougars of Houston (OA 9-0 Conf. 6-3) with the game being played at the TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas with the game scheduled for 7:05 PM ET. The odds on the game have the Cougars of Houston favorites at -7 -105 and with the Over/under at 72 and -285 on the ML, while the underdog Tigers of Memphis are at +7 +115 and +245 on the ML.

The last 5 games between these 2 teams saw the Cougars of Houston win a 5 games by 19 points on average in each of the games. The Tigers last time to win playing in Houston was back in the 2005 season. Presently both these teams are in the 2015-16 CFB Playoff Top 25 teams which make this game the most important game this season in the AAC.

The prediction for the game is that Cougars will roll over the Tigers of Memphis in the same order as the Tigers were beat by Navy in Week 10.

The 5th game brings together the Hurricanes of Miami (OA 6-3 Conf. 5-4) playing at the No.23 Tar Heels of North Carolina (OA 8-1 Cong. 6-3) with the game played at the Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with the game scheduled for 3:35 PM ET. The early odds have the Tar Heels of North Carolina favored in this game at -12 ½ with the Over/under at 63 ½ and -500 on the ML, while the underdog Hurricanes of Miami are at +12 ½ and +400 on the ML.

The Hurricanes in this series of 15 games with the Tarheels have won 4 and lost 11 playoffs games, and in the ultimate 4 games they have won 3. They have also won the last 2 games at Chapel Hill, N.C. The Hurricanes are struggling since the firing of their coach, but since then have won 2 consecutive games, while the Tar Heels have won 8 consecutive game this season.

The prediction for this game is the that the Tar Heels will win this game in a close ending, and the Hurricanes cover the spread in the game predictions.

The 6th game we preview and pick is between the No. 12 Sooners of Oklahoma (OA 8-1 Conf. 7-2) playing at the No. 6 Bears of Baylor (OA 8-0 Conf. 4-3) and game time at 8:05 PM. The Bears of Baylor are favorites at -2 ½ -115 with the Over/under at 77 and -140 on the ML, while the Sooners are the underdogs at +2 ½ +105 and +120 on the ML.

The Sooners before 2001 won some 20 consecutive games when playing the Bears, but since then and in their last 4 games the Bears have won 3 with the ultimate 2 games being blowout games. In this game even with their rookie QB starting, the Bears are a better team than the Sooners, but the Sooners do have a defense that will slow down the offensive powerhouse of Baylor.

Thus the prediction is that the Bears of Baylor will cover the spread and beat the Sooners of Oklahoma in this Saturday night game.

The 7th game in preview is the Ducks of Oregon (OA 6-3 Conf. 5-4) playing at the No. 7 Cardinals of Stanford (OA 8-1 Conf. 7-2) with the game being played at the Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California with the kick-off scheduled for 7:35 PM ET. In this game the Cardinals of Stanford are favored at -10 with the Over/under at 69 and -400 on the ML, while the Ducks of Oregon are the underdogs at +10 and +325 on the ML at SBG Global.

In the last 13 games that these 2 teams have played against each other the Ducks are with 10 wins and 3 losses, but in the past 3 games they were favorites but lost 2 of those 3 games. The Cardinals had defeat in their opening game by Northwestern and since have won 8 consecutive games to be at 8-1. Meanwhile the Ducks of Oregon after a home loss to Washington State they have won 3 consecutive games.

In this game it is predicted that the Ducks will cover and return to their powerful offense to beat the Cardinals in an upset on the road.

The 8th and last preview is with the Cougars of Washington State (OA 6-3 Conf. 7-2 playing at the No. 19 Bruins of UCLA (OA 7-2 Conf. 5-4) with the game being played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Saturday the 14th of November 2015 with a late kick-off scheduled for 10:45 PM ET. The Bruins are favored in this game at -9 ½ with the Over/under at 65 ½ and -390 on the ML, while the underdog Cougars of Washington State are at +9 ½ and +320 on the ML.

In the ultimate 5 games the Cougars have beaten top teams like Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon won losing a close game to Stanford, on the other hand the Bruins have won 3 easy Playoffs games but had a big loss to Stanford.

The prediction for this Playoffs game is that the Cougars of Washington State will cover the spread plus pull an upset a beat the Bruins of UCLA.
