Friday’s Meineke Car Care Bowl has Clemson favored in NCAA online betting against South Florida.
This game will have an early start on Friday and will be televised on ESPN. While Clemson has more talent, the better side in college football betting might be South Florida.
Clemson -5.5, total 40.5 at Sbg global
There is no question that Clemson has more talent than South Florida but if you bet the Tigers you hold your nose and hope for the best. Clemson just barely qualified for a bowl game at all. They went 6-6 this season and were blown out in their regular season finale by South Carolina. The Tigers have quarterback Kyle Parker but how much he puts into this game is a huge question mark. His future is in baseball with the Colorado Rockies and he nearly left the team but was convinced to stay for the bowl game. Parker and head coach Dabo Swinney had a heated argument in the last game. Swinney said that Parker will get the start in this game even though he won’t be with the team next year.
Defensive Struggle
The Tigers offense looks very questionable with Parker having little motivation to play well. The defense though is another story. The Tigers tied for the ninth best defense in the country allowing just 17.8 points per game. They have the best defensive player in the country in Da’Quan Bowers, who won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. He led the nation with 15.5 sacks this season. South Florida’s offense was rotten anyway as they ranked 103rd in the nation in total offense so they don’t figure to do much against Clemson. South Florida’s defense was solid this year as they were 20th in the country and they should be able to handle Clemson’s offense. This looks like a low scoring game in NCAA online betting.
