Nowhere to Go But Up for Miami-FL in 2023

In 2022, Miami favorite son Mario Cristobal returned to his native hometown and alma mater to restore the roar and glory to Hurricanes football. Cristobal knows Miami better than a cab driver. And he has recruiting contacts that can’t be matched. Additionally, Cristobal has a College Football Betting record of success in a big-time college program. As head coach of the Oregon Ducks, Cristobal went 35-13 and won two Pac-12 conference championships. In 2019, Cristobal led the Ducks to a Rose Bowl win. Thus, Cristobal came home to a savior’s welcome.

2023 Miami Hurricanes Preview

At the onset of 2022, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal had a strong sports betting reputation. But a 5-7 season was a humbling reminder of how difficult the Miami rebuild will be. Indeed, Mario Cristobal’s debut didn’t go according to plan. But Miami is poised to rebound in 2023. New play-caller Shannon Dawson and a healthy season from quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will help to jumpstart an offense that averaged only 23.6 points a game last year.

The Miami defense is also under new leadership with Lance Guidry. And the U certainly doesn’t lack College Football Betting talent. The Hurricanes aren’t ready to challenge Clemson or Florida State atop the ACC. However, returning to a bowl and a winning season should be within reach. In 2023, the Hurricanes don’t have to deal with Notre Dame. But they have to face Clemson, Florida State, and NC State. That trio is likely the three best teams in the ACC.

On the other hand, The Canes don’t have to face Pitt or Duke. Indeed, the Blue Devils should be dangerous this year. Missing Wake Forest isn’t bad, but not getting to play Syracuse and Virginia Tech isn’t positive. The schedule is not horrible, but there are just enough threats to keep this from being a breakout season. Texas A&M, in non-conference play, is a potential monster. Despite the Aggies coming to Hard Rock. And then Clemson, at NC State, at Florida State, and North Carolina are dangerous. Still, it would be a total disaster if Miami didn’t get bowl eligible with ease. Cause by a 5-0 start is possible with a win over Texas A&M. But it should all come down to being able to hold up in November.

It is true that Miami should be much better than it was a year ago when it failed to qualify for a bowl game for the first time since 2007. That is because there’s almost no way Miami could have the same disastrous injury luck as it did a year ago. The Hurricanes are still a few years from competing at the highest level. Most important of all, they must string together a few more strong recruiting classes. Concurrently, head coach Mario Cristobal played for The U from 1989-1992. If anyone gets the Hurricanes and their unique program, it is Cristobal.
