This week K-State heads back to Norman to face an Oklahoma team coming off an emotional game at Nebraska. Kansas State and Oklahoma remain two top Big 12 College Football betting contenders. Kansas State at Oklahoma SBG Odds Overview
Sharps will look hard at Kansas State as a quality road dog online betting value. As was previously noted, the Wildcats play the Sooners tough. Oklahoma will be fired up for a FOX prime time matchup against a quality opponent. But too much square money will harm their betting value.
Kansas State Wildcats Team Overview
Last game, the Kansas State Wildcats were upset 17-10 against the Tulane Green Wave as 13.5-point favorites. The game went under the total of 49. Kansas State has a record of 2-1 straight up, 2-1 against the spread, and 0-3 over/under the total.
At the onset, the two teams came into the game, allowing 22 points in two games. It was the second meeting between the two schools. Tulane came from behind to defeat K-State 20-16 in 1988. Of course, that was the year before coach Bill Snyder took over the Wildcats’ program.
In sum, Adrian Martinez was 21-of-31 passing for 150 yards and a touchdown for Kansas State. Running back Deuce Vaughn was held to 81 yards on 20 carries. Correlate, that was the first time in nine games that he’d been held to fewer than 100 yards rushing. Vaughn was kept out of the end zone for the first time in 10 games. Of great concern is that K-State hasn’t shown much on offense.
Oklahoma Sooners Team Overview
Dillon Gabriel threw two touchdowns, ran for another, and sixth-ranked Oklahoma hammered Nebraska. In turn, the game was the Huskers’ first after the firing of Scott Frost. Oklahoma posted its most lopsided victory over Nebraska since a 45-10 win in 1990. And OU scored its most points in Lincoln in 43 all-time visits. Late on, the Sooners have won seven of eight against the Huskers.
The next meetings are set for 2029 and ’30. Oklahoma scored 49 straight points after Nebraska opened the game with a six-play, 77-yard touchdown drive. The Huskers totaled just 71 yards on their next 37 plays in the first half. And then they didn’t score again until backup quarterback Chubba Purdy ran for a late touchdown.
In sum, Gabriel was 16 of 27 for 230 yards and turned things over to backup Davis Beville on the third series of the second half. The Sooners finished with 580 total yards, 312 on the ground.
