Once upon a time, Oklahoma and Nebraska had one of the greatest rivalries in college football history. The best betting on College Football example was their famed “Game of the Century” on Thanksgiving Day 1971. #1 Nebraska won a thriller 35-31 over #2 Oklahoma en route to its second consecutive national championship. Today the Sooners remain an elite powerhouse blue blood program. But Nebraska is not. A win over Oklahoma on Saturday would return pride to the Big Red program. Last year Nebraska played the Sooners close in a loss at Oklahoma.

Sooners vs. Cornhuskers SBG Odds Overview
Now head coach Scott Frost is out. Assistant and former Nebraska QB Mickey Joseph is the interim head coach for the Big Red. Frost was fired in his fifth season of offshore betting futility. Despite his opening press conference’s hype and cocky bluster, he flopped miserably.
Oklahoma will get support based on its blue blood status. Also factoring into that is Nebraska’s perpetual struggles. But the Big Red will get their share of betting action too. That is based on the Huskers being a potentially dangerous home dog. And Oklahoma is a vastly different team from 2021.
Oklahoma Sooners Team Overview
Last game, the Oklahoma Sooners got a 33-3 win against the Kent State Golden Flashes as 33-point home favorites. Oklahoma has a record of 2-0 straight up, 1-1 against the spread, and 0-2 over/under the total.
Following a slow start, Marvin Mims caught seven passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns to help Oklahoma. Mims’ 58-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter was his 14th career catch of 40 yards or more for Oklahoma. The junior had career highs in catches and receiving yards. It was the fifth time Mims had caught multiple touchdown passes in a game.
Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel completed 21 of 28 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns. OU finished with 430 yards of offense. Oklahoma has won 11 straight home games and 29 of its last 30.
Kent State played the Sooners on even terms in the first half. And Oklahoma was fortunate to be ahead 7-3. The Golden Flashes had 11 first downs to Oklahoma’s seven. And they limited the Sooners to only seven rushing yards before halftime. Kent State finished with 295 yards of offense.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Team Overview
Last Saturday night, the Nebraska Cornhuskers were humiliated in a 45-42 loss against the Georgia Southern Eagles as 23-point home favorites. Nebraska has a record of 1-2 straight up, 0-3 against the spread, and 2-1 over/under the total. Kyle Vantrease scored on an 8-yard run with 36 seconds left after Nebraska had taken its first lead. And then Casey Thompson moved the Huskers into field-goal range. But Timmy Bleekrode was wide left with a 52-yard attempt as time ran out.
Ironically, Georgia Southern won almost a year to the day that Southern California fired Clay Helton two games into his seventh season. Subsequently, Helton was hired last November to take over a Georgia Southern program that went 3-9.
