This past Saturday, which was Week 14 of NCAA football, we saw the No. 2 Oregon Ducks now 11-1 (1st Pac 12 North) and No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, beat state rival the Oregon State Beavers now 5-7 (5th Pac 12 North) 47-19 at the Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon.
This game they call the Civil War game, and this season Ducks QB Mariota passed for 367 yards and had a total of 6 touchdowns, of which 2 touchdowns were score on his rushing attempts, in Oregon’s win over Oregon State in their 118th meeting. This win in the Civil war games made it some 7 consecutive wins over the Beavers. The Civil war games started back in 1894 and presently is in a fifth way tie as the most played rivalry games in USA College football, and the Ducks are leaders in the match-ups at 61-46 -10.

The top offensive leaders for the Ducks in the game were QB Mariota (a top Heisman candidate) who completed 19 of his 25 passes for 367 yards and 4 touchdowns. RB Freeman & QB Mariota combined for 32 carries for 174 yards with Mariota scoring 2 touchdowns. Receivers Marshall and Stanford combined for 11 receptions for 207 yards with Marshall scoring 1 TD.
The Beavers were only able to score a FG in the first half of this game bringing the half-time score to Ducks 30 Beavers 3. Their other scores came with 7 points in the 3rd and 9 points in the 4th quarter for their total of 19 points in the game. Not enough to surpass the Ducks 47 points.
With this win the No. 2 Oregon Ducks will play the No. 11 Arizona Wildcats 10-2 for the Pac 12 Championship on Friday the 5th of December 2014, and this Arizona team was the only team to beat the Oregon Duck this season back on the 2nd of October at the Autzen Stadium as the Wildcats won that game 31-24.
